Not true. It's work, but it's pretty easy. Yes the first thing you do when you get out of your car in the morning is put in your ear plugs. It's loud. The concrete rolling in the drum is loud, the engines are cranked while you're batching to turn the drum.

But all in all it's pretty easy.

Some of the pours, like residential, are very laid back.

You might want to make @road_runner aware of that if you haven’t already.

Hot water. Yes the add very hot water to the mix. Same as we add freezing water to it here in the summer.

Yeah... That had crossed my mind. Been around construction enough to know you cant pour concrete when its much below freezing.

See them pouring in the winter. Just depends on the mix. See a lot of tilt-ups done during that time.

You can get the welding job anytime. You may even have a chance to become a batch man. Take the mixer job

Now see if you can weld a beer can to an anvil. :biggrin_25523:

I’m not going anyplace that won’t accept both me and the gun collection.

My ex running partner got his BIL on with a concrete company in WY (don't remember which). He worked hard as hell all summer, but as soon as temps dropped he was let go. This was after he had been told repeatedly they had contracts to keep their guys busy in the winter, which means just enough work for the guys who'd been there, and nobody else.

So. Last nite I'm getting ready to hit the sack. about 1 am. Weather was nice and cool so had windows open. Walk in bedroom and hear a voice. wtf. I have a neighbor across the street and one to the east. Neither one of them is up this late. However, neighbor across the street has an adult son who dosent live there but shows up occasionally. Hes a convicted sex offender and im sure a meth head after I googled his ex old lady awhile back after she got arrested. They publish all that in the weekly paper lol -
So. I look out the window and see two people walking around the power plant, which is my neighbor to the west.
They are walking around shining bright ### lights everywhere. I thought they must be looking for something, but what? So they walk around some more and finally I walked out the front door and axed em Hey what are yall doing?
About then, they got in the streetlight enough I could see they were the police. Thats a relief. They said they were looking for two kids that ran away from home. They asked me if I had seen em and I said no. Said if I see em to call them - 10/4

THEN. This morning I'm doing my morning routine, flip back the shower curtain and therin is a fairly large spider. Me no likey large spiders especially in the house. If they stay outside I leave em alone. So. after a healthy dose of brake cleaner lol said spider expired.

Two more days till BLUE MOON FULL MOON !

With your Truck experience, they may have dry bulk, aggregate and other materials that are needed.
