I haven’t scene an actual Heartland Express truck in a good long time now has that brand been discontinued?
I know they own CFI and some others but I haven’t seen them around in a long time?
Heart Land Express where are you all?

Heartland Exspress seems healthy with there aqusition of CFI that you mentioned , and they are hiring. Oh and I even saw a couple of their Trucks earlier in the week.
in the northwest. But they may be working more in Canada than they were because that was the first two I've seen in a while.

I saw one of their heavy haul trucks at the town pump in Livingston, Montana the other day

Cool, I used to see there actual trucks a lot, around Ohio and now very rarely do I see them and it's not just me another driver said the same thing, he said "Gee they have always been a big name since I've been around and I know they are still in business, but I haven't seen one of there trucks in a good long while."
I mean I drive the turnpike in Ohio everyday and haven't seen a Heartland Truck on that road ever in recent times. I don't even see them on the non-toll roads.
So I was wondering if maybe with there acquisitions of CFI who I see much more often and I think they own Smith Transport out of PA now who I do see a good bit I was wondering if maybe that Heartland brand is doing other work or more dedicated stuff and has maybe changed jobs perhaps or territories? I'll tell you to see an actual Heart Land Express brand truck anymore is pretty much a rarity. I know they bought out a bunch of companies and I wonder now if the Heart Land Express brand does heavy haul dedicated stuff or more contract dedicated things and if CFI now is there 50 state OTR wing of the company. Sure seems that way.bzinger, dosgatos, The_vett and 1 other person Thank this. -
"Heartland Express and Millis transfer combined had an operating ratio of 87.7% during the second quarter of 2023 and an 85.9% operating ratio for the first half of 2023. In contrast, Smith Transport and CFI combined for an operating ratio of 99.8% during the second quarter of 2023 and a 99.6% operating ratio for the first half of 2023."
Heartland and Millis are floating the boat and Smith/CFI are the anchors dragging bottom. 99.6% operating ratio for the first half of 2023 means making less than half a penny for every dollar in revenue. TFI announced prior to the sale they were unable to get CFI's ratio below 90. -
You happen to be governed at 69 mph? They bumped their governors up, so I see them a little less often now lol. I guess the odds of crossing paths while doing almost the same speed goes down.
Same with Crete. Seems like their fleet size got cut in half once they started running faster than 63 or whatever it was -
Now you mention it i don't see many heartless trucks around either, last time by the Coralville terminal on 380 it looked almost empty .
While heartless isn't a driver friendly company it is very well run so I'm sure there is probably a rebranding going on with cfi but heartless holds the cards for sure . -

So it's not just me then, that brand has been phased out or something.
