27mi, by mistake. With this bike, I’ve adopted a no-visible-computer mantra and am just riding by feel. I ended up going ~2mi further south than I should’ve and ~2mi further west than I should’ve. I was aiming for ~20mi, as I ease back into things and since I’ve been off the bike, since my last post. Felt good, though. Only minor butt discomfort. Unfortunately, my ~6yr-old light setup failed me. The battery pack only lasted me 3hrs, so I rode the last few miles into town without a headlight and the lower taillight. The upper taillight is for redundancy and more conspicuity. It’s the one casting the light on the ground, which I really like. I’m going to add another headlight, for redundancy, now. I’ll just leave it off, until the battery pack dies on my main lightset. Beautiful evening from the midwest cornfields.
Put some new treads on two weeks ago and swapped the motorcycle out for the manual power in anticipation of cooler fall weather. Got to do a bit of riding around Mt Hood last week. Lots of good trails up that way.
Went on an overnighter, was originally going to be more than that but the heat was pretty unbearable. Woke up this morning and the wind was forecasted to be out of the south all day at 15-25mph so instead of riding into that all day I headed back to the house. Still a fun couple days considering the weather.
I haven’t done the Cowboy Trail, but everyone says to make sure you’re tubeless and have fresh sealant in your tires. So it sounds like goathead heaven like a lot of other places in Nebraska.
