If it is not a Volvo warranty I would not waste my money.

Today, myself (T680 Gen 1) and another driver (T680 Gen 2) were talking about how much we missed driving a Volvo. A Volvo is going to be a requirement of my next job.

    Siinman and 86scotty Thank this.

So, I bought it but will not take delivery for a week or two. I was able to get a Volvo 250k warranty since this dealer has a Volvo dealer in another state. It's not all said and done yet but we negotiated a Volvo extended warranty written by an out of state dealership after the truck is certified for it. This is all great because the truck will be gone through more thoroughly before I take delivery.

I did see and drive it yesterday though. It was a team truck, pretty clean. It's a Globetrotter so it's trimmed out, longer wheelbase than mine.

I'll share more when I know more. Thanks @Siinman. I'm super pleased you have had good luck with that gearing. Yours is a TC motor though, correct?
    This is a standard D13.

I like them too. I have looked at other trucks but I just like them. Also, I've had great luck with the D13/iShift combo.

Mine is not the TC and would not get a TC with 2.79. They are only good for 2.4 or lower in my humble belief.

I think you will love it once you get in it. Glad you got the Volvo warranty with it as well. I think they are worth every penny for if something happens.

    ducnut Thanks this.

I know! It's crazy how those TC's are usually geared. A friend of mine's is like that and he said he would go to like 2.17's if he did it again. He gets amazing mileage out of it but he's had a lot more trouble than he should've in the first few hundred thousand miles.

With as good of mileage as you've told us about since you got your new truck I figured it had to be a TC motor. You just made my day!

Can anyone with a fairly new Volvo with the factory installed inverter tell me what size it is? I could not see a model number on this one in this truck and ran out of time to look while I was there. It is a Xantrex Freedom OEM installation with the controller on the wall under the other bunk controls (left side of bunk on wall). I'm thinking and 1800 or 2000?

    Thanks

Also, while we're at it, this is a 2021 Globetrotter. It's top level trim but I'd really like to know exactly what the standard specs are for a Globetrotter.

I cannot seem to find this specifically online.

Here's what a think I know but of course anyone can change specifics of a truck order.

    This one has:
    - Slightly stretched wheelbase (237"?). I don't even know what my 780 is but it's a lot shorter than this 860.
    - Top shelf leather driver/passenger seats with heat and massage/cycler function. No swivels, no cooling unfortunately. I thought those were also standard with the Globetrotter
    - Workstation, big Volvo fridge, fixed bunk, Webasto bunk heater, Xantrex inverter
    - Chrome and chicken light package
    - Rain sensing wipers, I think it has adaptive cruise (I-see pops up when cruise is on). I gotta learn about this.
    - It's gotta have better insulation than my 780. Much quieter on the road
    - Factory rubber mats with carpet inserts. Also, carpet insert in the rear. Looks original.
    - Better upholstery in the cab than my 780, cloth cushions downstairs instead of vinyl in my 780

Just need to drive it at about 1250 RPM”s. That is the best area for it in my mind or a little under. It equals out to 67 mph for my set up.
When I get a new one I will get the TC since it is now in the second gen. I am hoping they get the 3rd gen out before I get a new one. They have been working on it for a little bit now so should be out in time.
