Has anyone used a Bully Dog downloader on a Cummins ISX, particularly one with a DPF? I'm hearing some pretty good things about them and it's getting tempting to try one. But for $2800, I want to be darn sure that they're the way to go. Any info, good or bad, is greatly appreciated.

if i were you i would do as much research as i could on this before i spent the money, if you are running a isx with the new emmission system(doc/dpf), that system is sensitive, if its still under warranty and a problem happens, you take it to a shop for repairs and they find out its installed, it will void the warranty, the average cost from what i/ve seen for just the dpf is around $2000.00, thats just for the dpf, i think the biggest problem people are having with these new systems is that the just is not specd right or just not using it right, when it tells you to pull over and run a parked regen, then pull over and regen, it will shut the engine to save its self it its let go to far, it doesnt care if your in the middle of no where, then it has to be towed to a shop that can fix it.

I have used one... They actually just got one from full tilt about 2 months ago and i picked up just under a Mile to gallon out of it plus the power is great. They are supper easy to put in. But once it is in you dont really need to mess with it. I also brought it to my local cummins shop and they were inable to find it when they were looking. I would get ahold of bullydog or fulltilt and atleast try one. I should have mine paid off before the end of the year.

Customer bought one for a 17-18 ISX. His take on it was that it was quite impressive.

A co worker tried it on his 2011 t660 . He used it for about a month then sold it . Every time he hit a long pull with a 100,000 lb gross load it would light up the dash with bells and whistles he said . He kept hitting engine parameter safeties . Rather than blow a 2 year old engine he got rid of it . He said it was barely .5 mpg improvement and some of that was because spring rolled around. Most likely they improved it since 2013 I’d guess.

Not a heavy diesel guy but on all the pickups I’ve ran a bully dog on they were all pretty great.
Big thing is check the warranty stipulation
