Notice at the end the fire crew mainly concentrates thier efforts low on the blaze... Had the first guys done the same and concentrated the extinguishers low and under the flames they may have been able to stop the blaze before it was a total loss. The number 1 mistake people make when using extinguishers is they spray the flames... You have to spray the base of the lowest portion of flames and work your way up... Otherwise the fire will simply reignite.

One extinguisher on the burning oil under the truck and 2 or 3 more on the lowest portion of the flames in the engine bay in the beginning may have been enough to stop the fire while there was still something to salvage.

Uh, do you want me to come in?

I’m staged up, do I need to come in?

We get there and stage up. Text them on the app. They let us know when to come in. No need to ask every freaking time. They are way more intelligent than the drivers. They got a handle on the situation.

Then when the drivers are told next truck come in, they respond “Do you want me to come in?”

    And I’m not exaggerating.

For some reason we aren’t tossing anyone off. It’s frustrating.

Shortage of quality employees. Watched this many times in the patch from NM TO ND. Companies, or their local yards, settle for subpar performance. As a result quality employees are either not applying, or they begin to behave in the way of subpar. The cycle continues, and because HR has destroyed the old school qualities will get worse until #### hits the fan.

My last year I'd work 1 week in Colorado, and the next 3-5 farmed out to our other districts as they didn't have enough competent people to carry the work they had available. Averaged 115-120 hours a week for most of a year.
