I think he has started a crusade against brokers wanting drivers to download a tracking app so that they can keep tabs on their freight.

It might be too much machine for the farmboy. 85mph top speed@1000cc. 50mph is about my limit with wheels on a loose surface.

He’ll be jealous— and that’s alright— I still owe him a shop visit with him and his Ol Man— this might be the moment

50 is about 5 mph past my comfort zone — nobody ever said you gotta wrap it out at top speed

So I had an "I told you so" moment today at work... But I couldn't rub it in and really enjoy it.

My direct supervisor (aka my brother in law) has been on my case because I manipulate the weld puddle in very tiny circles. See with the weld process we use at work you don't NEED to manipulate the puddle. But there is nothing wrong with small manipulations... But because so many of the guys that weld there dont really understand the finer details of welding they have been told " No manipulating the puddle!" Well apparrently the next up the chain of command noticed that I was manipulating the puddle... And instructed my BIL to "Have someone talk to him about that." So a welding engineer was requested to come speak with me.

When the engineer arrived my BIL pointed out some of my welds. And I asked "Is there anything wrong with thise welds?" The engineer replied "No, nithing wrong with those welds." My BIL said, "But circling is a no no!" The engineer then explained what i had tried to explain to my BIL... That small manipulation is not an issue. Then he continued, "Sorry, I know thats not what you wanted to hear, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with this guys welds."

It took almost everything i had to keep from saying "I tried to tell you." But I knew that would not be a good thing to do... So I held my tongue. But i didnt let that keep me from smiling about it the rest of the day.
