Everything eas replaced. Old leafs had zero spring left in them and the shackles as well as frame peice were worn out so had to be replaced or repaired. Ill try overpacking it tonight and run it and see if that helps or hurts.
As towards steering there is less then 1/8th an inch of free play in the shaft but the power steering has had issues in the past so ill have them check the whole system anyway just out of parinoia.

Got my truck back from the shop and all the wreck damage save paint done (my color is weird and special order) but no more stuff being held together with bungie cords and duct tape! Also it looks weird with that new bumper lol,
i got used to the old one.
Siinman and Constant Learner Thank this. -

And yea i may have gotten a weeee bit pissed after having 2 vehicles decide my truck was worth destroying and went with the heaviest duty one i could find. Thing weighs almost 400 pounds and supposidly is rated for moose strikes at 75 MPH. The bumper is 3/16th steel in the thinest areas about as thick as a nickle and the heaviest areas are stock steel.
Good luck to anything trying to murder my truck i say.Phoenix Heavy Haul, 77fib77 and Siinman Thank this. -
So. Question for you folks. I got heavy cupping and heavy visible vibration when stopped on my passenger side steer tire. Inflation has never been under 103 and i try to keep it at or near 105. And have kept it that way since i got the tire checked every other day. So it shouldnt be over or under pressure.
Any idea what might be bent or broken? Im guessing left over wreck damage since my truck still likes to wander even with new tie rods and a new drag link. But im at a loss to what else would be bent or causeing the tire to visibly vibrate with engine at idle. Esoecially on only that side. Also the driver side tire is very slightly wearing on the outside of the tire with no visible vibration.Last edited: Aug 16, 2023

So free PSA. kuhmo tires are not very good. At least in my application. This is the 5th one in a row on entirely diffrent axles and postions to fail exactly the same way. And this was after i had the bushings bearings and an alignment done on the trailer. If just one or a pair had failed like this id chock it up to a bad tire. But 5 of them exactly the same way in diffrent positons and axles? Nope bad tires entirely. Sad thing is they only have 25k on em.

Speaking of tires. Finally figured out the issue with my steering rack. Lonestar freightliner there in texarcana managed to misassemble the #### rack. Pete took it apart and replaced a few warped over tightned parts and the rig rolls streight finally. Though it ate my steer tires.
Oh well still got 98K out of those xlines. Got 2 more new ones at $788 a pop before my national discount. But i offically have 18 brand new and matching brand/style tires on my truck for the first time lol. Ironman i480s for the trailer x line Zs on the steer and michlin XDN2s on the drivesPhoenix Heavy Haul, Constant Learner, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
