Not really. That person may be able to mention your name to a supervisor and have him look at your application to give you a quicker, 'yeah, we might be interested" or a "Nah, come back later", but thats about it. Linde has one of the most thorough application processes that I have ever been through and everyone has to go through it, no exceptions. To be honest, I don't think there are any bad cryo companies. I don't know how any other companies, besides Linde, operate, but every Linde terminal that I had experience with(6) all operated differently from one another. The rules we followed were all the same. The same expectations from the company were the same. But the pay and how each terminal ran routes and how they handled getting and delivering product were all different. Linde is good. Messer is good. Air Products/ Air Liquide is good. If you cant get on with any of the private cryo companies, but can get on with a 3rd party, absolutely do it and after a few years, if you still want to try one of the privates, you will be extremely attractive to them with your experience.
But they will still make you learn 'their' way![]()

Any tips or advice for starting cryomatic tanker? I tried looking it up on YouTube. There isn't that much on the process. Other than one guy
When I was originally planning on going to Oakley I found multiple videos on food grade tanker. Meanwhile most cryogenic tanker videos are really short things. I know will have a trainer to teach me. But like some info before then.viper822004 Thanks this. -

Each of the company's and even different plants of the same outfit have similar but different techniques.
You'll be trained by the book but you will find others, maybe even your trainer will show you something different.
Another is that these cryo companies like to protect the proprietary property such as process and plant workings, layouts, customers and such.
In addition we aren't allowed a phone/camera in the hand while operating so kinda hard to shoot video. Most plants have signage stating video and picture taking prohibited.
Everyone gets the same training here, some pick it up faster then others but the key, I think, is getting a trainer that will teach and show you why cryogenic liquid behaves the way it does, in different conditions, in addition to the hows of doing the job, if that makes sense.viper822004 and scythe08 Thank this. -
If you wanna know more then just how but the why this is old school but the best!

I hauled cryogenic liquids and compressed gases on and off since 1988. Most companies (Linde,Airgas,Air liquide,Air Products) haul liquid O2 (Lox) Nitrogen,Argon. They also produce liquid CO2. If you get hired by any of these companies they have their own training programs. Don't get intimidated by all the valves in the rear of the trailer. (Some people do) its a learning process.
I used to haul for a company(Logex)contracted to haul for the various cryogenic liquid companies.
Mostly I was hauling liquid oxygen to hospitals in the 5 boros of NYC, Long Island, Philadelphia, Baltimore and points north of PA. up to CT.
It's decent money and clean work. There isn't any cleanup of spilled liquid since it becomes gas when exposed to ambient temperatures. (Liquid oxygen can be more volatile since contact with oil or any petroleum product can cause ignition or explosion on contact. Which is why it's always off loaded on concrete pads.KDHCryo, scythe08, RockinChair and 1 other person Thank this. -
Like I said in another thread. If I can learn to fly a study level plane in Microsoft Flight Simulator. I can probably learn cryogenics. Ie a plane that you need to setup everything close to what IRL pilots do.
Also should I get my TWIC card? Was told if I do. I will be reimbursed.viper822004 Thanks this.
