OMFG!!!!! i get there early at 1100, no problem at least I was on time. Appt # 1700. Took me in a door at 1600 STILL waiting on paperwork # 1930. Drivers cannot use the breakroom at all and hesitant about letting you use the restroom. Explain HOS rules and that you need drive time to leave their property and they seem oblivious. I ran out of hours sitting on their dock. :biggrin_25516:

Yup.... that's the best you can hope for.

The issue you were faced with at McLane's, is an issue that's been nagging drivers ever since the HOS rules were changed a few years back.

It doesn't seem like the DOT has the desire, courage, or brains to fix a problem that leaves a hole big enough to drive a truck through. (pun intended).

I've been driving on-and-off since 2002, and drove under the old HOS rules. I liked the old rules better, because it allowed me more flexibility to plan my day.

But, what "is"....... "is". And there ain't nothing we can do about it.

We don't live in a perfect world...... And this is one example of that imperfection.

    Drive safe.

    Mikley,
Had similar experience with MBM in Denver. Grabbed the paperwork. Didn't notice they had also missed 110 cases Ball park hotdogs. Found out 2 stops later. It is so hard to not take it personal, but I learned. My DM knew I left and actually made another deliver all the while QC Beeped about DOT .\

    If they signed for'em...Screw'em!

Sell them off the back of the trailer.

There is a provision that allows you to get to a safe area for DOT breaks.

And yes, trying to explain to a shipper or reciever that you have to follow HOS is like trying to explain simple math to a dog.
