You come back to this thread when your a O/O and then debate your view point. Because I promise you will have a different view. As far as meeting someone that claims they sleep with the truck off I'am one of them and you won't hardly ever find me sleeping in a TS.. belive it or not there are other plsces to camp
As far as your argument about painting and the the cost .. obviously you don't know much about class & what it costs to paint something .. 2k might be alittle on the high side but it would cost every bit of 1 200 to 1,400 .. and not every body drives a plastic volvo either so 99.9% of you talking points are given from a company drivers view point where over all cost is illrelevant vs your personal comfort
Besides you don't know the true cost of owning a truck because you have never had to buy or price them as a company driver..

@Long FLD I wasn't going to ask you to post pictures of the company trucks you mentioned, but I'm glad you did. Those trucks look good with the color-matched APU.

In trucking, the practice doesn't really pay off. While weight is a significant factor (we once changed landing gear manufacturers because of a 7 pound difference), the plane isn't going to be making extra stops just for fuel, so neither should the truck. In point of fact, it actually costs more to do partial feelings for both the carrier and the truckstop.
There are plenty of folks who follow this logic, and when you ask them to run through the math it sounds like "I can shuffle this deck of 52 cards and end up with 54" - no you can't.
While I agree that apus are generally not worth the cost, I still love mine and prefer it over opti idle.drivingmissdaisy, rollin coal, Last Call and 1 other person Thank this. -
A few also have older 579's. Not all are in LT's. -
Are their trucks unique or do they all look the same and basically look like a fleet truck? If you have a whole bunch of them running identical trucks it’s doubtful that they all went out and purchased the trucks in their own and they are likely doing a lease purchase thru the company.
Oxbow and Short Fuse EOD Thank this.
