It's like they flipped the switch last week. LGT, Southern Pines, USA Cryo, they are not hiring now.

Linde, Air Products, Messer, nobody is hiring.

I thought, when it came to having good drivers, they would appreciate us.

    Messer Bethlehem plant 2021-2023.

And that's pretty much all the northeast. There's a recession coming. The only thing that will stop it is another Covid scare.

Yeah we have had a hiring freeze for quite sometime out west but I’m not complaining at all. Hydrogen is kicking our butt, both the drivers and the plant. I thank goodness I was in cryo when Covid hit. We got slow for like a month at AP then it was back to business. Unlike alot of the fuel haulers I know who got laid off.

Can any of you give me info on entering the cryo industry? I have my tanker, class B, but still need my hazmat. Are there companies that will hire you and help you get your hazmat? I’m still a new driver and have been working in the waste industry for 2 months now. The pay is decent but I don’t want to work in this industry long term.

As a class B driver you could apply at a local cylinder shop if you live near one.
They employ class B for straight box truck and lift gate flatbed trucks for local deliveries. Call or stop in and ask.

Airgas has an opening in Fairless Hills, PA for 5 bulk drivers.. advertising $100k a year

I have a application in and I reached out to a recruiter

but what can I really expect?

I’m aware of the driver facing cameras and some of the mundane safety rules which is not a problem for me if the money is good… only deal breaker for me is NYC, I can handle DC/Northern Virginia just fine if that’s an option

Just talked to my colleagues in Portland. Linde has a hiring freeze going on out there as well. Not sure which other terminals and branches are involved. I know the Tualatin and Hillsboro locations haven't advertised in months, but their turnover was much lower than ours anyway.

Weird run for me this week.
Loaded AR and ran down to a hydrogen plant north of Beatrice,NE and bounced to Council Bluffs. Got up and was told to head to Indiana to load. Got loaded and made it to Madison and have 2 stops in the twin cities later today.
    Argon shortage still happening.
