I commented about this in another thread recently, if I was going to work for Sherwin-Williams I would strongly prefer to do tanker work exclusively if possible. I've been seeing a lot more of their tankers on the road recently but I haven't gotten a chance to actually talk to one of the drivers.

There’s a lot more $$ to be made delivering paint to stores. I probably easily average over $400 a week in unloading pay that tankers don’t get a chance to make. $125k last year and didn’t work a weekend or a holiday.

I have worked for Sherwin Williams for about 1.5 years.. .32 yr veteran driver.. Best place I have worked for.. 76.9¢/mile. Hourly is 32/hr for stuff.. Delivering to stores pays a rate per hundred-weight. Usually about $65-75 per full load. Or hourly if more than 4 stops close by.. We deliver to our own stores or lowes.. Home every week and this year be about 100k/yr.

Thank you for all the good info you're sharing. What are your impressions of the Volvo trucks that they use?

    Goverened speed?
    Driver facing camera?
    Volvo D13 or Cummins?
Where will the truck be parked on weekends?

I didnt know they have teams ive never seem any job post near the Atlanta ga area. Is it true you can make 100k a year here as a solo driver? You get too pick your loads weather you want too run a short or long run each day?

    (1) I haven't seen any teams with our drivers, except a couple of the owner ops leased with our OTR fleet.
    (2) I'm just past my 1 year mark, and this year to date I've made 80k. I've also heard several from our DC say this has been a slow year with more drivers. My trainer pulled 130 last year.
    (3) At least out of the southwest division (Waco, TX) Sunday dispatch is based on seniority, the higher you are on the list the more choices you have. The rest of the week is based on order of arrival to the yard. There's a list of available loads, typically hilighted in order of priority. You pick the load you want based on remaining HOS.
    (4) Once you're high enough on the seniority you have the opportunity to run more locally instead of being part of the regional fleet. Bids for type of running (local, shuttle, regional or OTR) are 2x a year.

Thanks appreciate the response. Just got off the phone with a amazingly gentleman named marlow whos been with sherwin williams for 4yrs now he came from ups and Walmart.

He basically answered every question i had and sent me his year to date earnings hes right at 88k as of now so your pay is representation of what he shared with me that its true no bs.

    Im strongly considering applying .

I read a post about some guys out of buford, ga saying they weren't getting the miles or making money so i was skeptical. Not really sure what their issue was but there posts are on indeed.com. i dont mind regional at all the job honestly doesn't sound hard at all too me..

Ill let you know how it goes if i do decide.

I wish you luck, remember all of my information is for the SouthWest division, so your mileage may vary. That being said I've heard some of our guys not doing as well, but they're also the ones I see not wanting to run hard or deciding to stay at the yard when they could still get some miles under their next load that day.

I get home 1-2 during the week some weeks when i cant make it to a known safe parking spot with my hours, but if I've got the hours to run and a load available I keep moving.
