Next stop: A Hill-Phoenix load to Buffalo. Due 6:00am Friday. Which means that the contractors won't actually get there until 8:00am and I'll already be racking up detention when they arrive.

Dropped my Ohio Volvo and BH to Nashville next for Friday. Haven’t been to Nashville BH yet in five years here. Be a good week this week thankfully miles wise. Got the email for a course on the pulse site, got mad thinking it was a cargo securement deal from the New Balance pallet falling over that was impossible to do anything about but it was adverse weather driving which Im guessing was company wide thing. 27 minutes long, could have been extra short and just said don’t drive 70 plus mph on snow and ice, the end, lol!

Finfn1372, JohnBoy and dwells40 Thank this.

Hometime over. Need to drop these coolers in Miami at 0600. Will be leaving the house at 0430. I’m thinking this will be the last time I take a load home to sit on for a week, just to come out at o dark thirty. The least they could have done was give me a preplan. I’ll be done by 0700. Will not be sitting around in Miami, Pompano Beach service plaza here I come.

Anyone wanna hear how much I despise this industry? Here goes. This load of coolers I have for the Publix DC in Miami refused the load. They have no room in the warehouse. Now, if anyone knows anything about this warehouse, it’s huge. I’m at the dock now for 2:45 minutes. They’ve let me sit here until I either find out where I’m taking these coolers to next, or they need the door. Which the dude told me they won’t need it until noon. So, here’s what I see, the load was picked up in Richmond on the 10th. I picked it up off the Savannah yard last Thursday night the 12th and have been home with it until 0415 this morning when I left the house. So, during this whole time, I’m out of the loop and find out about the warehouse not having room at 0545 this morning. Now for the last 2:30 hours, I’m making calls to the Rep, my DM, 2 different cooler people in Richmond, and everyone is at a loss as to what I’m going to do. With my wonderful, “IDGAF” attitude, I’ll just go right back home and redeliver this garbage Monday. Meanwhile, I’m getting calls from my DM wanting to know what’s happening. Aren’t I the driver who gets pooped on and you’re the DM?

Your situation reminds me of what happened several years ago when I was working local for Overnite. We received 4 Pizza ovens consigned to a pizza parlor under construction. The ovens were put on the local Waynesboro truck and when he tried to deliver, he heard this, "oh we are not ready for the ovens yet, we will call when we are ". So, the driver brought the ovens back to the terminal. In about a month, a call came in, "we are ready for the ovens now". The original freight bill was around $1200, now it is $3200, storage and re delivery. A call was made to the consignee, informing them it is cash or certified check. They went thru the roof, LOL! Hey you want your ovens, have $3200 ready when the truck arrives or we will ship them back and send you the freight bill for the shipment back to the shipper.

This is what happens idiotic college grads with no clue what to do and companies who like them because they’re cheap…they’re getting what they pay for but drivers are getting screwed because of it..
