Does incident reports for tire blowout go against my CDL record?

    I know around here if you called the police and told them you needed them to come out and do any kind of report because you had a flat tire, you would not get a very friendly response. Unless, of course, there was another vehicle involved that had damage or injuries.
    Law enforcement in rural areas is normally spread pretty thin.

    That’s exactly why I asked the question. Around here you would get a good hardy laugh out of the cop and if you used 911 to call in the report they might be filing other charges that would soon make you forget about your flat tire.

    How often do you have tire blowouts? Maybe you should move on so you don't work for a company who's tires explode on a routine basis.

    9-one-one, what is your emergency ? Ah, yeah, I just had a blow-out. I need an officer out here to file a report. (dispatcher) A report on what? (driver) My tire just blew, ( dispatcher) Sir have you been drinking ? We have real emergencies going on right now. Just call emergency road service, OK ? (driver) but my bossman want it documented, please send someone. (dispatcher) here's friendly advice, call your bossman, tell him I said to go pound sand !!!

    You can inspect the tires all you want and not run over anything in the road, but blowouts are still going to happen. Especially if the owner is buying cheap tires.

    Most larger police departments aren’t going to come out and write a report for a blowout with nobody else involved. Most departments are understaffed and just don’t have the time for such nonsense.

    I’d find another place to work.
