I might one day. When I am desperate. I mean those loads, there were better paying ones, too. It is aggravating though how many agents don't take their loads down when they are covered. Kind of feels like being lied to when you see it says there are x amount of loads, you call ten good ones and they're all gone.

@Dave_in_AZ Have you ever done one of those Alaska runs? There was one I saw that might have been a typo. Said $75,000 revenue, in a dry van to go to Florida from Alaska. Said it only weighed 5k lbs or something like that too.

I don't even go into Au Canada.

If you get 3/4 of the way there, your truck breaks, that agent can recover that load and you will get zippo.

Then what are you going to do?

There's nothing coming back. And it's not like you're going to shop for fuel.

    HUGE risk. Very bad odds.

You always want minimal risk to yourself.

Oh I wouldn't go there. Unless I had something that was brand new. But gosh dang. Just 65% of 75k is a lot for 19 days worth of running 6500 miles or whatever it would actually be to get from there to Florida. I don't like going to Canada either.

Not sure I would do it in a brand new truck. A connector or ground wire that shakes loose and you are financially toast.

Truck would need to be one that was built/modified to take that abuse.

I live up near Seattle. When I was running with L.S. I had a few agents call me to run stuff up during the summer. So I checked with folks that worked at companies that specialized in WA to AK freight. Would of ended up being a 2 to 3 week round trip with bunches of stress and most likely end up dead head back. Could turn the same revenue at that time with 3 "No Brain, No Pain" round trips to SoCal.

What do you do when you need a lumper at LS? Is there someone to call to get a comcheck or do they give the BCO the comcheck and then deduct from BCO if there's never a lumper receipt turned in?

Thats what I said - the broker :)

Doesnt have to be that particular agent. Just someone from that agency.

    Stringb8n and Bumper Thank this.
