@Dave_in_AZ Have you ever done one of those Alaska runs? There was one I saw that might have been a typo. Said $75,000 revenue, in a dry van to go to Florida from Alaska. Said it only weighed 5k lbs or something like that too.
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
If you get 3/4 of the way there, your truck breaks, that agent can recover that load and you will get zippo.
Then what are you going to do?
There's nothing coming back. And it's not like you're going to shop for fuel.
HUGE risk. Very bad odds.
You always want minimal risk to yourself.Mountaintrucker4302, Speed_Drums, Vic Firth and 6 others Thank this. -

Not sure I would do it in a brand new truck. A connector or ground wire that shakes loose and you are financially toast.
Truck would need to be one that was built/modified to take that abuse.
I live up near Seattle. When I was running with L.S. I had a few agents call me to run stuff up during the summer. So I checked with folks that worked at companies that specialized in WA to AK freight. Would of ended up being a 2 to 3 week round trip with bunches of stress and most likely end up dead head back. Could turn the same revenue at that time with 3 "No Brain, No Pain" round trips to SoCal.Speed_Drums, dwells40 and Stringb8n Thank this. -
What do you do when you need a lumper at LS? Is there someone to call to get a comcheck or do they give the BCO the comcheck and then deduct from BCO if there's never a lumper receipt turned in?

Broker - always call the broker
Stringb8n Thanks this. -

Doesnt have to be that particular agent. Just someone from that agency.
