Tacoma has always had a 4 cylinder, albeit in the lower trim levels. Not powerful but reliable.

Same here. But the problem is Nissan took away options over the years that made it affordable in the first place.
    1. Manual transmission discontinued
    2. 4 cylinder engine discontinued
The current ones are all V6 powered and equipped with an automatic transmission, regardless if it’s a King Cab or Crew Cab. The cheapest new ones I’ve seen (King Cab models) will set you back $40K to start!

I’ve seen lately more people just keep their old vehicles and fix them up and whatnot..just seems affordable that way..who the hell wants a $1000month car payment..its insane..

I know. I was looking at current prices on Honda Civic hatchbacks-all the Honda dealers around me want $430-$470 a month!! And that’s for the Sport(lowest) trim level!
Don’t bother asking about the Type R-
    trust me-you REALLY DON’T want to know!!

Yup. My youngest son bought a new Tacoma...or whatever they were called then... when he was in the service. Four banger, two wheel drive, he even has manual windows. I made fun of him and his rice burner.
That was fifteen years ago and guess whose pickup is still running and trouble free? He has almost three hundred thousand on it now. I think he replaced the fuel pump last year.
I've buried three F250s in that same length of time.
Youngest son is gifting the little Toyota to his son and he'll replace it with a 2024 Tacoma. I won't laugh at him this time.
The Tacoma is impressive. A lot of the loggers that didn't want to spring for a Tundra have bought them and everyone I talk to is happy with their choice.

They’re selling like hotcakes by me! When word got out that the V6 was being phased out and the Tacoma was going turbo on the new generation models, everybody started making a run on them!
Even 2016-2017 models with 150K miles on them already are selling!

People around here still buy them. Jeeps too. Have you ever seen the treacherous conditions in the Target parking lots?!?! Never know when a rock climb might break out.

The RePo guys won't be getting much sleep at night. They are the one's making a good living, as long as they can dodge the bullets.
