I would alternate them simply for having more room if I had to use 6 chains. But I also ran 2 chains per corner protector so they were close to each other.

I know it’s not a good visual but…. My trailer has chain pull-ups down each side.

With smaller coils like this I center my coil rack between 2 pull ups. Then I can cheat and use (1) 20’ x 3/8” chain on each coil.

Put both hooks of the chain together and feed both of them through the coil, run 1 hook to the pull up at the front of the coil, and the other hook to the back side of the coil. Now 1 side is anchored.

Go to the opposite side pull the slack out of the chain making sure it’s not crossed as well.

Hook a binder to the pull-up at the front edge of the coil, and another binder on the pull-up at the rear edge of the coil.

Maje sure your edge protectors are in place and tighten the chains up. Should be some slack in the chain between the 2 binders, remember it’s 1 single 20’ chain.

That’s how I do mine in these smaller coils…

    That's usually called a "spool". :)
Those spools are rated the same as the whole stake pocket. Stake pockets weren't meant to be "shared" or chained through one side. Either the whole pocket, or none of it and personally, I can't see destroying something I may want to put a stake in. Get the manufacturers ratings for those tie downs points. You need to know them, to figure the actual WLL that you are working with, via the weakest point.

    Hey now!

How do you get a steel hauler out of the bunk? Toss a bar of soap in the bunk.
