Yeah I don't think my girlfriend and I would team for too long. It would just be for a year or so probably to travel and then try to look for regional or local. But that's only if she really really truly wants to go trucking with me lol. It is not for sure. But yes, like I said, I am cool with going over the road until I find something regional or local. Unless I get lucky and find that right away but you guys are saying that's almost never.

Swift Refrigerated is a decent job. CDL school in Pomona, CA and/or Salt Lake City, UT.

It was $5700 EACH for my wife and I through a local community college.
Why did we pay out of pocket instead of going to a company school where we would be paid to attend? Freedom. We were free to sign with a local company to do OTR team driving after 8 weeks of training where we went home together every night. Did I like paying $11400 out of pocket? No but we've made that back in spades and have a company we like working with. They did give us $3000 each of tuition back after 6 months.
money is important but being happy is priceless, luckily we are at a stage of life where we have resources to do it our way. If we were in our 20s that bill would have been too big.DexterSaintJock, silverspur, FullMetalJacket and 1 other person Thank this. -
Are you saying there are local and regional jobs for brand new drivers coming out of school? Isn't it smarter to do over the road for six months at least first and then try to get those jobs?
austinmike Thanks this. -
That is cool. Yeah that sounds like a bit too much. I found a place in Riverside or actually Rialto that is giving $1000 off. It is only $3500 for one person. That deal is only good till next Wednesday though. And someone told me I have to make sure that they give me at least 160 or 180 hours so I can learn properly. So I still have to ask how many hours they give
