Yes, but there's a $1000 charge if I deliver it before 12:01am Wednesday. Or so I have been told.

 

Making that phone call was the first thing I did after I left the shipper. As Jarhead said, there's nothing coming out of Richmond, and Wytheville apparently isn't any better.

 

Lucked out and got a Groveport out of Jaratt. Talked to my Terminal Manager in WM and he was the one that was supposed to put in for my longevity raise Oct. 3. Well, better late than never I guess. Also gotta love when they book a load then ask after the fact if you can make pick up cut off then complain and wonder why you can’t after you explain multiple times why. Didn’t put the Jaratt on me until 1230, by the time I did a pretrip and scoured the yard for an empty reefer it was 1300 before got on the road. Got to Jaratt 1345 and out 1400. So Im not going to be in Groveport until close to midnight with it being a 40k lb load and all the hills across 64 and 77. My ten won’t be up until after 1000 if I manage to get a bobtail spot there cuz guaranteed no spots at the truckstops there otherwise gotta go down to Circleville. Told terminal manager it will probably be between 1130-1200 before get to pickup. Load at yokohama tire in Groveport between 0600-1000 but not making that cut off. Going to Volvo in Independence,VA then drop trailer off in Wytheville then home. Will see what happens in the am…..this is why operations need to have about 15-20 yrs of driving experience with a cdl so they know stuff we know since they don’t want to listen to us or trust us when we tell them stuff. Stuff might look good on paper but in reality it might not work in real world, same as officers making battle plans in the military on paper but soon as the brown stuff hits the fan those plans go out the window.

 

Go to the convenience store with the truck parking across the street from the casino. That's where I always park. Much, much closer than Circleville.

Heck, go to the casino. Like Joe Walsh said, ain't never been there, they tell me it's nice.

 

If your operations people had 15-20 yrs experience doing anything they would be smart enough to be working anywhere but dispatch for a mega.

 

Broker load took off me as I figured and a BH put on dropping on the yard then bobtailing home til Tuesday. Lucked out finding a bobtail spot open at the Loves here at 0100 earlier this morning.

If I'm any judge of horseflesh, you're hauling the trailer I'm picking up. Just got off the phone with my DM and they've got something for me to do, which involves picking up a BH load off the Wytheville yard this afternoon and delivering it to Greenville, SC. They got approval for me to drop this WalMart load a day early.
