What you are saying is that you have changed, I can respect that, most people do learn from their mistakes and don't keep on repeating them.

of course i have sped. both in a big rig and any of my personal vehicles. i do the "going speed" of the traffic on the roads, as many of us do, and that "going speed" is always more than the posted speed. as far as my logs are concerned, yes i have cheated on those too. like for instance, when i was about 30 minutes from my house, i should have stopped and got a motel room. yeah right, i'm going to do my 10 hour break 30 minutes from home.........no way......... as far as inspections, both pre-trip and post trip, i always did those to the best of my ability, hopefully never missing anything.

but as for hitting/striking something and driving away...........like you did.........or leaving the scene of an accident, like you did.......nope, never, ever committed that crime like YOU DID...............

sure pass judgement on me, as i most certainly did to you, but your crime was more severly dealt with and should have been. you have proven to those various trucking companies that you are a "runner", but not a "miles runner" , a "responsibility runner".......and they just don't need your type....

as for log book cheating, speeding..........phifft.........no big deal, compared to a "run-a-way" like you................i'll always get a job..........can you say that..........????

your past can haunt you forever my friend, and running from a problem is the worst way to deal with it. (as you did)
like i said in an earlier post, KEEP TRYING, that is all you can do.
don't let lack of sympathy from your peers (i use this term loosely) weaken your resolve, that would be a secondary mistake to the original problem.

To quote one of my favorite bands here, "If consequences dictate the course of action, it doesn't matter what's right, it's only wrong if you get caught." First, let me start by saying that I respect you being honest by admitting that you have been guilty of those things. Apparently, though you are just another one of those people in their second childhood, basic trying to get away with whatever they can. You will probably bend and shape the rules as much as you can, with certain disgression, like leaving the scene of an accident, because that looks real bad on paper. Well Congratulations, you're a modern day Serpico with that kind of honesty.

I respect your positive encouragement, but for you to suggest that I am 'weakening my resolve' by simply getting involved in a somewhat heated give and take and done very honestly on my part, would be a gross underestimation of my character. So please, don't patronize me my friend, I may have made a very dumb mistake, but that doesn't make me a dumb person.

Thank you 25(2)+2, how can a person learn without making mistakes. Your parents can only help you so much. Just because they tell you right from wrong doesn't mean you don't still need to do a little investigating yourself.

i guess you can't read as well as you leave the scene of an accident. the "going speed of the traffic" is at times speeding yes indeed, but its more dangerous to do the actual speed limits (posted speeds) when everyone else is going up and above those posted limits. the police here along the I-95 north/south corridor don't usually stop the big rigs as much (if at all) as they do stop the 4 wheelers for speeding. if the police were to have speed traps and catch me, then fine, i deserved that ticket. then i pay the fine and i'm done with it. you have chosen to leave the scene of an accident because you were in a hurry to get going.................you got caught and have to pay the penalty which is probably banishment from trucking, as you had violated DOT laws/rules pertaining to LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT.

you can try and "pick out" anything i say and then try to use it to your advantage, but you still lose, and lose big time. i HAVE a job in trucking, and you DON'T...........that's the difference.

argue all you want, you lost this argument from your very first thread/post when you admitted you LEFT THE SCENE OF AN ACIDENT........no matter what anyone else "admits to", most of us "STAND UP" and take our lumps.........

    you chose to run-a-way....................

any more arguments from you from this point are, are useless.........

The bottom line is supposedly you are an adult. You failed to act like one by taking responsibility. Yes I am harsh, if all of us took responsibility for our actions then there wouldn't be issues like this to post on the forum. I think that even though you say you have resolved to change and be a better driver, what's to stop you from doing this again? We all know that once you do something that it's easier the next time. I'm no angel I've done the speeding, log book things. I think that people like you in this industry are one of the primary causes for all the media bashing we get, the new regulations, and the formation of organizations like PATT, MAAD the list goes on that single out the trucking industry as a whole. What IF you had injured someone? According to your post about the accident, you could have KILLED some one and not even known it. I'm not changing my mind ever about this. I say that we don't need you in this industry period.

Does hitting telephone wires or electrical wires while on a road constitute an accident?
