As a new driver myself I have never applied with Schnider but let me explain my reasoning. I attended my cdl training at a local college. The first day of class we all introduced ourselfs and there was a husban and wife couple there that had both failed out of Schniders training. They said it was fast and furious like drinking from a fire hose so they had decided to attend a smaller college and get their CDL. They said the Schnider groups were large with 80 students starting and only about 20 left when they droped out. But the kicker is they both went back to Schnider to run as a team once they received their CDL's from the college. They were so impressed with what Schnider had to offer they made beeline back to Greenbay the next weekend. So there must somerhing there for new drivers.
Just my 2 cents

I went on line (ebay) and bought for $3.00 all the questions and answers for the CDL permit. I got all of it.........my states drivers exam, general knowledge, air brake, hazmat, doubles/triples and tankers! I studied for one week and went took the test and passed it. I did pick up the CDL handbook to dig into and read while I wait for school in two weeks. I thought I'd pass on this info perhaps it may be helful to some of you.........

Hopefully you can't B/S your way into a truck without some real training. -

Where in my post did I say I have my CDL? Everyone, without exception that I have talked to got all the questions and answers from their schools so they could study and go get their permit. Please don't bore me by saying this isn't going on. To my knowledge no driver is out there driving for anyone with a permit! Perhaps you should read a post thoroughly before opening your mouth and inserting your foot.
I haven't started school yet, I will be training with Schneider and from what I have read from these post they are considered pretty good, training wise. And no I am not BSing my way into a truck and would never do so. I may be green but I'm not stupid. I have far too much respect for the truck and the damage it can do to others and myself if improperly handled and operated. And Geez, didn't I say I picked up the CDL handbook to read thru while I await school? Sure doesn't sound like someone BSing their way into a truck!

Fitlioness,
It looks as though I omitted "permit" in my reading of your post.
Sorry for offending ya, and best of luck in your training. -
Thank you for the apology. And I apologize that I came back at ya like I did.
I understand that the experienced drivers are concerned about the newbies and what some of them do to get into a truck right away.
I went to check out a school the other day and what I found there scared me! The owner who hardly spoke english first off tried to get me to refi my home mortgage, it appears he has a side business doing home loans......but that isn't the worst of it. After asking him how many hours of class time he gives his students he told me they don't do classes there! People just show up and start driving! All you have to do is plop down $2000.00 and that's it. I told him most companies want 160 hours of class and he said he will write it on my certificate. He went on to say He would get me my CDL in a couple of days if I'm a fast learner!!!! I was amazed, shocked and angered. As I left the "school" I saw a line up of "students" outside hoping in and out of trucks. They were all speaking in spanish and appearing to get a thrill out of driving the trucks. I was so furious about the lack of concern with turning out know nothing drivers from that pig of a "school" owner I wanted to belt him. He claims that he is certified by the state and that he provides many of the trucking companies in the area with drivers.
So I do understand your annoyance when you thought I was trying to BS my way into a truck. Of all industries this one needs safe, professional drivers and to think that "schools" "Students" will be out sharing the road with everyone makes me sick. I'd turn him in if I knew who to contact........if anyone has that answer please let me know and I will do it in a heartbeat..........
