Well to each his own wasnt trying to come out mean just questioning your thoughts in the last post. Ive never blown a steer so I dont know how it feels and that first one might throw me off and maybe come outta my lane a little. Guess it was just a habit from my first trainer driving it into my head to keep cars from riding side by side with you more than necessary. you know the ones im talking about, they start passing ya then sit there for 10 minutes. Dont do it a whole lot but when I see a situation coming where I might possibly need that lane the cars sitting in cause an onramp with lots of traffic coming or what not ill throw that signal on and most I stress most people will get on it and pass ya.

well i can tell you if you blow a steer it will get ugly for a min or two..

if you blow a tire and it hits a car you will be resposible for the damage...

if you have someone next to you, your chance of something happening goes up.....

now why would you increase yur chances of having an accident, when its not neccesary?

i don't know but i know im better off turning on a blinker for a second than running extra unessassary risk..

my spelling may be off but i gues you can figure it out

I had a steer tire blow before back when we had the California rims....You know the ones that used a retaining ring....The ring went flying and nailed a 4-wheeler.....

Poor 4-wheeler had the sheyat scared of him and took off like a bat out of hell...never did find the guy.....:biggrin_2552:

Lol well I try to keep mine in check, if not the wife will keep it in check for me. I hear what you guys are saying but for me its just not that big of a deal where I would have to turn on my signal to get them from hanging out beside me. If my blinker goes on it means (1) Can I please come over? or (2) I'm coming overI do wonder why folks would want to hang next to you unless your their big spot of shade. Dont worry about it hurting my feeling Brink

Basically it means I'm coming over.....I'll "edge over" even the most densest 4-wheeler will get it....

What you can do....and don't tell anyone I said this....But give your steering wheel a gentle wiggle......And watch the 4-wheelers scatter like ####roaches when the lights go on......
Works even better for doubles and triples......:yes2557:

Out here in the Southwest 4 wheelers driving beside you isn't normally the problem. As far as blow outs on steers axles, back before all the trucks had power steering I lost a R steer and it snapped the wheel out of my hands and I ended up 100 yards north of the highway out by desert center on I10. If I had lost a left steer and there was a car there I would have gone over or threw them.

I witnessed a powder train blowing out a outside tire coming into Baker and it killed the two people on the passenger side of the car. It is just a dangerous place to hangout.

    HEHEHEHEHEHE

Really though, I never do that turn signal trick, all it does is confuse most four wheelers, and it's like right out of finding nemo:

They just sit there and stare at it.
