Oh for the old days when the truck stops were often just café/restaurants along side (Stan's?- Goodlettsville? and Art's and Dot's-Horse Cave) and just food. Or across MS,AL,AR,MO,IL, IA and others where the staff was usually family members and older relatives, or neighbor women in the kitchens. Solid foods, well prepared.

Thankyou. I wasn’t planning on leaving with out something else lined up. I’d try to give 2 weeks though. However, Ican be let go outta nowhere it’s a two way street. Better make it in my favor. I would look for something that pays for all time working. Or 95 percent of it. Enough of this time for free, ain’t out here for free. We all out here for money.

Friend, dwells40, 4mer trucker and 7 others Thank this.

Good outlook... With experience comes judgement. Ability to consider the "next" result of "now" actions.
Look at the broad view of the "next load" after this "next one".. Where you will be and possibilities out of there. Not always possible with green dispatchers, but help him with requests/suggestion.
You both want to roll as continuous as possible with "profitable" loads in a large loop you prefer.
It don't hurt to let your employer know you have a mind and are able to use it.
And after a reasonable length of time, he be so stupid/hard azzd as to not recognize it, would be time to select another place to work.
(My outlook on driving life; hope yours is much better and more rewarding.)
