What if it Snows?

Dusting of snow in Lexington, KY at 1 and 3. A pretty good squall around 7. Just a show of accumulation. Supposed to drop to 24 tonight.

 

Not a lot of squalling in Dayton....but the wind is INDEED motherless.....and the temp is on the way down past freezing.

On the way back from the diesel delivery to the TA at I-70 x11, I saw a couple eastbound ODOT plow trucks with empty beds, presumably enroute to the county salt barn to load up.

 

Well, my Waffle Housing is over, time to head home.

I went home early because I'm driving the spare truck, and each time I shut it off, it takes about 15 minutes to start.

Almost couldn't start it when I was under the rack and loaded.

Woulda had to have been towed out.

Yesterday I had similar trouble with it, and was told, "Well, go ahead and use it, and if it has to come home on the hook, so be it".

Today I told them, "Since I'M the unfortunate party who is gonna be waiting for the tow in the cold and dark in a dead truck, I'm gonna drive it back to the yard while it's running. You can have those two other loads back."

I left a note for the day driver. If he wants to roll the dice with that truck, more power to him.

Dispatch: "Can't you just switch to the spare?"

Me: "This IS the spare".

Dispatch: "Oh."

Speaking of nostalgia, do you remember when Philadelphia had the lead in the 4th quarter, right before they lost to the Seahawks?

Me too, that game was awesome.

 

Well this was one of the muddiest days I have had in a long time. Probably since the oil field. But demurrage should be good.
