I got pulled over for surprise level 2 in MN. I thought I took my seatbelt off to grab registration book from across cab, but officer cited me for not having it got fired. Now I can't work anywhere, all companies want six months experience driving CMV after violation for insurance purposes. No DMV reportsble accidents or tickets. Isn't there anyone who will just give me lower pay? Would have been way better if I were personally fined thousand but allowed to keep working.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Today I just fired a driver for her no-seat belt ticket, she got a ticket, not an inspection. She denied it but the security cameras and the cop's video don't lie, so she and I watched it, she gave me a deer in the headlights look and I gave her a chance to explain but she said she didn't like a seatbeat.

If it isn't on your MVR, or it wasn't a ticket, then I would think you are hirable just have to find the right company.

So I’m curious. Would you have fired her if she admitted from the first that she did not have the seatbelt on?

It depends. Where are you located and exactly how much experience do you have?

No, I would have dealt with the insurance company and told her the next time she is out the door wherever she is. I have another driver who had a $3000 fine for a seatbelt, the insurance said to let him go but we worked out a compromise, he was honest about it, he said it was a mistake and was willing to pay the fine.

3000$ fine for a seatbelt?! That seems a bit Draconian. Who issued that?

Not a ticket, but on the inspection is on the PSP, so it lowers company CSA I can't get away from it. When I started, I remember working with people who had accidents, etc. They were still working, though sometimes at lower pay. But it seems over the top to not be able to work ever again due to this.

I agree with Chinatown. There might be something else on there. Plus right now it seems as if many carriers have ceased hiring. Maybe it’s just an east excuse for them. Maybe look around at smaller times companion that care a lot less about psp score

Crap it is $300, not $3000, actually i looked it up, $260 plus court fees which brought it up to $310.

It's rarely "just this one thing".

Straws that break the camel's back are "just one thing".
