I distinctly remember being with my Dad in our 1965 Ford LTD station wagon on Memorial Day weekend, 1970.

The local Red Ball Atlantic gas station had hiked the price to 49 cents a gallon, and Dad straight up lost control of the valve that kept steam from blowing out his ears....

It was the first time I ever saw him yell at someone who wasn't family.

August 13, 1976 it was $.68 in Hibbing MN — I ditched my job to be down at the DMV when they opened to get my DL (morning of my 16th BD) so I could be legal— then I went and filled up my 72 Chevy 3/4 T gas hog I had bought a couple weeks before and wondered how on earth I would ever be able to afford to drive it

Well— since the “Smart” peoples said DOOM was imminent and we got about an 1 1/2” last storm, I question if they have gotten any smarter — maybe DOOM really is imminent— probably ought to get an emergency roll of chew just in case

Hmm I don't know that the cat or you for that matter will be happy campers. However a collar activated cat/dog door might be the answer.

Other half is due to fly back to the Ho on Saturday — from the place that no sane person would go — cause they found that my brother really does have a brain (debatable IMHO) and fixed it—but the “Smart” peoples have grounded all the 737 Max big jet planes until Saturday and she is in the middle of a conniption fit wondering if I can come and get her— but DOOM is imminent on the roadways leading to the place that sane peoples shouldn’t go— this may require an extended shop session to contemplate a reasonable solution
