Don't worry wh...it will come back one of these days. I don't have to tell you that grain hauling is cyclical! A few good years, then everybody floods in, so you have to put a few bad years in to weed them back out!

Take it to the shop super or the boss, and ask him for a favor (bring baked goods with you - donuts usually work on a good day). It might be an oversight over the years - some factory preset or previous fleet program. Here's a few pitches that might work: 58mph could cause accidents behind you depending on where you are - and the cruise is great for fuel savings if you're not in the hills. It never hurts to have a good reason to "sell" the issue, and I'm sure whoever it is hates to be stuck behind a slow truck on the highway. Good luck and roll safe!

Hence my and many others problem. Wife does taxes, L/O comes in and tells her how look how much money I am making. Grossed about 80K for the year, no profit zero zilch, but still was thinking how well he did. The problem is they gross revenue is more money than many of these persons ever thought they would see at one time. They are making 3000 per week in their mind. When in reality it is net or a loss. They are really just working to have a job and a place to sleep.

I will not likely stay at this much longer. Even doing day temp construction part time would result in more net income. Time to sell or trade this big truck for a Sprinter van or F250/350 and take the tools out of mothballs.

I agree with you Pawnd. Some of these truckers must not know what net income means. There are a lot of truckers just a engine overhaul away from going under...I guess they don't know it.

#!#$ ##$ #$## ##$###### truck!!! Spent the last 10 days "trying" to buy a CCV for my truck from Roberts. This seemingly simple assembly consists of three even simpler parts. An plastic 90 degree elbow, rubber grommet/seal and the hose that runs towards the ground.

Talked to the guy at the parts counter at Roberts, no go, they don't have the part and the local Cummins guys don't have it either. He says he'd order the parts and have it in a few days, fine! The next day sitting in line at a customers I decided to take a look at the parts diagram the guy printed off for me. I notice the ESN# is wrong, its the wrong #### engine he's ordered parts for. Call him, "oh sorry" he says. He looks it up again with my ESN "Ok, we have that part, come get it". So I drive truck and trailer back to Roberts, he hands me the part, and its only the elbow, and I need the seal since that's where its leaking! I had gone over exactly what I wanted previously, we even walked out to my truck and I showed him which and why parts that I need. Ok, "gotta order it" he says. Couple more days go by I call them. Sorry ain't here yet. A few more days go by he calls "come get it" he says. So I get my dad to go over there and grab it for me since he's in the area.

Dad leaves it inside my pickup truck for me where I park every day. So this morning I am all ready to go install the new seal & 90. Spent an hour pressure washing, and making every thing squeaky clean again. Open the parts bag, and its the wrong freakin seal, it twice as big as the old one. Then I end up ripping the old seal trying to reinstall it, so now I am screwed since Roberts is closed, and this ripped seal is trashed!

Oh, and before somebody asks; I cant go directly to Cummins here in town. They wont sell me the parts, its some sort of Volvo/Cummins contract thing I guess.

HOWEVER! I did try to buy a few feet of new heater hose at Roberts to replace the old ccv hose. The parts guy looks me dead straight in the eye, and says we cant sell you that. You have to go to Cummins! What do you say to somebody that stupid? Roberts don't carry heater hose lol, the hell you say?

Roberts wins, I cant drive the truck too far with out a #### CCV assy. On my ISX it sits on the front engine cover facing the engine fan. I would have an oily yuck mess with in an hour if I do. So bright and early Monday morning I will pay to have Roberts install the #### thing (if they actually have it), since I don't have time to make 5 more trips back and forth. Ill just get their service dept to do it for me!

Here is what I want. I want a job that no matter what, I am the only game in tow. I want to have a business that no matter how much of a #### job I do, I will still get paid. Even better than that, I want a business where the more you screw up and the less you know, the more your customer has to rely on you. They got a good thing going over there at Roberts. Somebody has figured out how to get paid off of stupidity! I wonder if that's where politicians come from?

I really don't know what to say. I haven't heard anything good about Roberts but that's pretty bad.

Kansas, I think I've found a job that fits your description...it's the President of the United States. Sounds like the one we have now fits the criteria you're listing. You should give it a shot!
