Hi all, I am wanting to make a career switch. I am currently a state employee at a horribly dysfunctional agency. I am desperate to get out ASAP.
I called Swift, but the recruiter said I need to verify 10 years of work experience.
I taught English overseas from 2018 to late 2021. I cannot provide any paystubs during those years since my funds were deposited to an overseas account.
Can anyone recommend schools or companies with training that are more relaxed with work history requirements?

Did you file income taxes for those years. If so, most companies will accept those as proof of work.
If not, don't worry about it. Most companies look at previous 3 years. The 10 years is for CDL drivers changing jobs.
You can also get free cdl school, no cost to you, from the 'WIOA Virginia' program.
`
Curiosity only; which country were you teaching English? -
Avoid dedicated accounts through Werner or Schneider.
OTR only with those companies for new cdl drivers.
Seems every week a new driver comes on this forum that was fired from Werner or Schneider because of incidents hitting something at the stores they deliver to. Those stores aren't designed for tractor-trailers.Last edited: Jan 22, 2024

I left a voicemail for one school that works with three of our community colleges. Their testing facility is actually attached to one of the colleges. I will dig a little deeper for WIOA info.bryan21384 Thanks this. -
Yeah, China cracked down hard on English teachers. A few bad apples ruined it for the good qualified teachers.

There's other trucking company schools to apply with other than Swift.
