    Don't care.

I didn't care about Bruce, don't care about Caitlyn - but then again my money isn't in them.

I fully understand and accept the idea of being emotionally involved in your investment, and if that's your primary focus - you do you. However if I'm putting money into something, I care about the return - not the clout. One of the apartment buildings I own I actively hate, except for the money it puts in my account every month. I continually talk myself out of making renovations that wouldn't make me more money or the tenants more comfortable. But it would make me happier owning the building. It's a 6 unit, 2 x 2 bedroom, 2 x1 bedroom, 2 studio. I could make it into a 4 unit 2 bedroom, and end up with the same monthly rent after dropping a boat load of money into it - never to see any return.

Do the math and you might be surprised. Going from, say, a 6mpg truck to an 8.5-9 is a HUGE savings each year and will cover more of a note than you think.

I'm not condoning financing a new 200+ truck but fuel savings makes more money than most think.

He said 10% expected gain, which is probably wind tunnel testing; i.e. perfect head on conditions. So, 6 to 6.6ish, or 8 to 8.8. You suggested roughly 30% improvement.

I pay 3500 a month now and would not be much more than that. My loan with EPU included was 192 if I remember right for this truck. I pay 12K a year for insurance so would not be any difference on the new truck. If I gained 1 MPG over this truck and I think it would be more but will be conservative at $3 a gallon I would save 5K a year. Just makes more sense to do it in the end.

Worst case I would get 1 MPG better and at $3 a gallon I would save 5K. Then of course add the depreciation and it would be cheaper to buy new again. I will for sure buy another new like this one within two years as that is my scheduled time that I have in my business plan. I would like to buy a little earlier but will decide what I am gonna do at the end of this year.

The 10 percent gain is just the aero gain. If I do like I want to on the drive train it will be more than that. Should be an easy 9.5 MPG truck how I spec it. I average so far a little over 8 MPG's life time on this truck. So maybe about 15-20 percent gain in MPG's for me. IF you had an older truck it would be well worth upgrading to this style of truck.

LOL at everyone who acts like someone doesn’t have any equity in what they currently own and has to come out of pocket for the full purchase price of a new truck.
