Ok. If you are driving while on a cell phone and you cause a wreck where there is a fatality, and the investigation proves that distracted driving was a major contributing factor.

Once convicted in a court of law for manslaughter can we make it a mandatory death sentence with no right of appeal?

Only fair right? After all you are putting your mere convenience above the lives of others sharing the road with you.

This would apply to truck drivers and 4 wheelers alike.

Do you pull over to use a CB?

I don't use a CB and thread is about cell phones, so that is what I commented on.

Same applies. You hold a mic; you hold a cell.

You ever drink a pop or coffee while you drive?

Yup. I even light up cigarettes while driving.

But once again, the thread is about cell phones, not other types of distracted driving.

I was trying to stay on topic.

I personally will not use a cell unless it is with a bluetooth, but the way trucking is getting regulated many factors interfere with what you are doing. Snacking, drinking, looking at directions, talking on the CB. I think one of the most troubles with cells are not always drivers, but distracted 4 wheelers, kids texting etc. True I have seen truckers swerving around holding a cell, but most are 4 wheelers.

What is the difference if you run someone off the road and you are talking on a phone or taking a drink? Either way you caused a wreck.
