I think minimum on average miles a week for teams is 5500 miles. There was a team thread for old dominion on here from 2010-2012 they ran team for 7yrs and average 6k miles a week over 7yr period so im hoping to average something similar to that would awesome. Terminal manager told not running hard at bottom pay i will easily clear 125-130k gross no problem so we shall see. I didnt even ask him he just straight went into explaining how much i can expect too make no sugar coating or recruiter bs lies so i appreciate the honesty thats a lot of money i won't complain.
Where can I go?

#### i didn't know OD paid solos that much thats incredible. Well the terminal manager said thats the minimum i can expect to make is 125-130k . He said thats barely running not even pushing it this is based on the average 5 day work week doing minimum average 5500 miles a week. Also i start at bottom 6 month pay which is 0.82cpm when i max out in two yrs im expecting to make maybe 145-155k depends on what the raises are over the next 2yrs. All i know is OD Don't mess around seems too me they pay us drivers very well.
How long have you been with OD? IM guessing you enjoy working at OD?Last edited by a moderator: Feb 7, 2024

The best paying team run I've ever known is liquid Hydrogen or regular cryo teams at Air Products or Linde. Both drivers make 130k-165k per year. I dont even know a LTL team that's making that. Out 5 or 6 days and off for 2

Ive never seen a team driving position in my area for linde or air products. I did hear they make great money .. well have you ever worked for an ltl company teaming to know what they make? Nobody made this much maybe a 2-5plus years ago in ltl teaming but they do now. The solo guys are making 125-140k plus a year now so teams have to make several thousands a year more id imagine based upon the math.
Top pay for OD team before the raise this year is at almost .091cpm x 3000 miles a week, plus drop and hook, plus fueling pay that's about 3k plus a week x52 weeks in a year that's easily 150k plus a year for a team driver. As pay goes up every year i can see top guys making 150-160k easily in the next few years if they aren't already doing that now or close too it. Plus OD gives a bonus from their stock shares every year this year everyone got almost 5k plus yearly safety bonus which i believe is 1500$ max so all of that adds up. -

I just got the call today i have my road test and physical scheduled for tomorrow at 10:30am est time. Im guessing after i complete those tasks they will be scheduling my orientation date? Im nervous about the road test cause i have not driven a manual 10spd since trucking school over 5yrs ago lol.
They said they will give me a refresher course for up too 4wks if i need that long. So i suppose the road test is more a evaluation to see if i can hook a set, am safe and atleast have a general concept of how to shift a gear or two lol. Normally im not nervous for road test but i am this time.. i don't believe its a pass or fail test as long as im safe i should be good. -

They just told me to tell a little about myself that was it. Since they had my resume in front of them they already knew i have plenty of teaming as well as doubles experience.
They just asked if i had anything that would prevent me from being able to do my job, if im okay being away from home for 5 days at a time basis questions just answer no or yes too accordingly thats all.
I prepared answers to interview questions lol and it wasn't that serious so i was all nervous for no reason so im hoping the drive test will go the same way very basis stuff just stay calm it will be over before i know it..
Also the interview only lasted like 5-10 minutes if even that long lol. They seemed like good kind hearted easy going individuals.
