Well, was cold enough to snow but ground was too warm to stick then turned to rain. On my way to drop this morning somebody decided to jack knife themselves around USA parkway exit and blocked whole interstate off. Roads are just wet, too warm to freeze, need to quit handing out CDLs like candy….

Back in the truck after a four-day weekend. Was presented a list of very short runs to be picked up today and delivered tomorrow, or a couple of northeast runs that pick up tomorrow and live-unload at midnight, or a nice 10-hour drive to be picked up at Jarratt tomorrow morning and delivered in Groveport tomorrow evening.

If the northeast loads had been drops, or had a different delivery time, I woulda taken one of those just for the variety. However, the idea of leaving a warehouse yard in Connecticut at 1:00am (or later) and trying to find parking fills me with existential dread. So Boar's Head it is.

Boars Head load from Jarratt to Groveport cancelled. Pretty unusual. I think that's only happened once or maybe twice before to one of my loads. Currently waiting for HQ to give me something else to do.

Safety has had enough of me what with my Wild Turkey incident from a couple weekends ago. Currently getting loaded in Henrico for a drop in Fostoria, OH.

Been here before. This place not only wants your driver's license, they also want a copy of the truck registration. Only place I've been to that does that. Not sure why. But since it ain't my personal info, I don't care much. Still, it's kinda weird.

Ended up with a broker load of window glass to Pa they were going to try and let me drop on the columbus swift yard cuz it was due Monday and would have been in columbus Friday and no miles this week if delivered it. Well decided with weather way was supposed to be I took a gamble and ran to 40 thinking it would be better than 80. Well, I chose wrong because 40 is shut down and 80 is open….hoping it opens tonight so can still get to columbus saturday and not have a no pay week. Still think planning needs improvement here and need to stop relying on broker freight so much and beat feet to find back haul customers. You would think all the knuckleheads undercutting and hauling for pennies at a loss would go out of business already….

Reading and skipping thru for an hr or so . I am not shocked with some problems of new drivers . Office officials dont know , care , cant be bothered or all of above to make it smooth sailing . Jon the 42yr vet is pulling out his hair with the kind of exp he has , a noobie will be ready to hand someone their hat . And big companys gobbling up small frys is everywhere , if you live in TN. You've heard of hiller plumbing . Flat rate expensive as hell and dont pay worth a dam . Sry if this is off topic of thread .
