About the big Co's taking over. You guys may be pleased to know what I was told by a Director of Operations for one of those big companies while # MATS two years ago. He was telling me that they had customers that had not paid their bills in over a year and that they were still hauling for them. When asked if his company was getting finance charges for bank rolling his customers operations he said........no. hmmmmm

Yes I found a local repair shop that has some good prices on Used and caps. Plus their rates are better than most shops. Real nice guy owns it. As a small business owner for many years I prefer to take my business to the little guys whenever possible.

Pretty much. Brokers don't look to see how much dead heading you might have...they just want the loads moved. I have had them pay me for dead head miles when they couldn't get trucks.

I learned some hard lessons before I stopped accepting loads until I figured the mileage. Some brokers will tell you the mileage but they aren't to accurate sometimes.

That was basically the breaking point with E for me. $1.91/mi 235 mile run.
No complaints right? Now add in DH of 176 miles and Presto! Chango! $1.09/mi.

    How about $1.93/mi for 233 miles. DH= 193 miles.....$1.12/mi

Best one yet!?! $1.53/mi 294miles.........DH= 309miles for a grand total of $0.74/mile all miles..... Are you there yet???????

Hey whats with all the complaints and why is it taking you so long to get that load delivered? OH gee maybe the fact that it was Mids and it took 12 hours to load and 9 hours to offload.

    Give it to the Mixicans!!!!!:biggrin_25516:
