Gee, I wish I still felt that way. I was bound to hit this point with my cynical attitude though. Maybe I need to join a support group.
10 years ago, folks would complain about the decline of this industry……..it was so much better 10 years ago as bad as it was.

I don't disagree that it was better years ago hell decades even but at the end of the day I love to look out the window and see my truck, knowing that I can go anywhere when ever I decide to. That motor purring makes me so happy I need to slap myself sometimes so I don't break my face smiling.

I got my license when I was 17, but didn't start driving for living until 1998. I have been in trucks since the late 60s, and drivers have been saying that since the beginning! My dad felt like manual drivers do towards those with auto restricted CDL; "What's the matter! You don't know how to shift?" So I learned on a 4+4. My first load I picked up, the in house carrier had posted a good bye to a driver who was retiring. They clipped a newspaper article from the local paper highlighting his career. The driver was happy to get out of the industry, considering how bad it had gotten. He had been run off the road because he flashed his lights to a driver!

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
