Depends on the salary , good teachers get paid #### and get treated like #### by some , not all students . Flipping a hamburger gets you within 10$ an hr of a journeyman union plumber/pipefitter . I saw lastnight flipping thru utube that CA. wants a 50$ hr minimum wage . I cant verify the veracity of such but i wouldn't b surprised . Anyhow , i hope all have a kick ### week .
Do not waste your time working at this Trucking company you been warned.

What might work across the pond, ain't the norm here. Just say'in.....Gearjammin' Penguin, snowlauncher, TB John and 2 others Thank this.

The did provide ELD but pulled it out and want him to upgrade his phone to handle ELD in his phone. I ran into the same thing, they tried to tell me I had to upgrade my phone when they switched from tablets to phone based ELD, keeptruckin was the app which I think is now Motive. It took up too much memory on my older phone and wouldn’t run correctly. They finally broke down and provided me with a company phone. I’m on his side with this. I have no responsibility to provide the hardware to run their ELD. They want a phone based ELD, they can provide itsurf_avenue, snowlauncher, wa6ems and 10 others Thank this.

Being paid for all the hours you work is not socialism, it is common sense. If you decide to stay working for a company that pays you $ 0 per hour for 3 days, rather than even $ 10 that sounds like a distinct lack of it to me. Fair enough if it suits you, but sure as hell wouldn't suit me.
Gearjammin' Penguin, Numb, TB John and 2 others Thank this. -
Limiting me to 35 hours a week is the socialist part of it as well as them doung away with your get together with your friendsLonesome and broke down plumber Thank this.
-
But doesn't that make having a beer with your mates in a bar socialism too? Anyway we still worked the same hours as we used to but put the tacho on break when not actually driving, but the important thing was, they still paid us. Otherwise we wouldn't have done it.
Numb, Still undecided and bryan21384 Thank this. -
No it does not.

OK, I suppose that depends on your definition of socialism then. This is mine:
a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
Not something I have ever advocated nor does it say you should work without pay.Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
This will get moved to the political forum. America and capitalism has yanked your country and your neighboring countries bacon out of the fire twice in the 20th century. We got mired in Vietnam because of France. So it angers me when someone like you comes on here and tries to find fault with the way things are done here. You like your government telling you what to do to the extent you described in your post then fine, stay there. Don’t come on here and tell folks like me how we’re doing it here is wrong or uncivilized. As an octogenarian from your town you should be more thoughtful about finding fault with the capitalistic system that fueled the Arsenal of Democracy that put a bunch of folks ashore at Normandy on June 6 1944 to pull your young behind out from the boot of the fascist thugs that had overrun your beautiful country. I feel YOU were born on the wrong continentThe Big T, Dna Mach, Crude Truckin' and 4 others Thank this.

I sympathised with a bloke who doesn't get paid for his work, that's all.
LoneRanger, Still undecided and bryan21384 Thank this.
