Bob I have been on my trainers truck for a little over a week now and I just want to say I have really enjoyed all your post. My trainer is on the Family Dollar account and we run out of Florida and he gets to go home every weekend. He is a super guy and I am really learning alot from him. He gave me the option of staying in the truck on his home time or going to his house with his wife and kids and I chose to go to his house. His family is super nice and treat me really well. The account is hard work because we unload the trucks and he told me I did not have to help him unload but I am not one to sit around while someone else is working so I help. When I get done training I am suspose to be South East Regional but he said if I want he could talk to his boss and his boss could put a good word in for me so I could maybe get on the Family Dollar account in NC which is were my home is. I am not sure if I want to do that or not because some of the places I have seen him back into I don't see how he does it. LOL He makes good money on the account so I told him I would let him know later on in training. Once again thank you for all of your wonderful post I am look forward to reading any updates you post.

Sup Bob, i started out working for Werner about 6 years ago and stayed there for 3 1/2 to 4 years then switched companies (which was a mistake). I ran van and flast with Werner and can say i was much happier on the flatbed side. Had alot of fun there and made some good money after the training pay, they are a decent company to work for and can make decent money with them if ya stick to it. Ill prob head back over there after a couple more months when my contract is up with the Army. Best of luck to ya

Well i have been with werner for a year now on my own. Driving the south east region, and always end up helping with the ded. accounts {Dollar General, Proctor and Gamble, Office Max} just to name a few. :biggrin_25525:

From what I have seen if you do your job and don't try to be a slacker it works very well with werner.

"Werner hired me and I will give them the best I have until they prove unworthy of my dedication and hard work." Which won't be long. werner, they willnot give you everything they have, speaking from experience, you are very foolish bob. Either that, or you are another recruiter who has joined the big truck trucking forum again.
Either that or you are another recruiter who has joined the big truck trucking forum again. Yes someone has a brain good job Joeschmo111........................................................................................................................................ If you're looking for local, check and see if Werner needs D&H drivers out of the Atlanta terminal. Ya run hard all day, but you get home at night.
Thank you Bob the trucker for that input, but you could have told me that in person after all is that not your job. After all bob 1 week on the road by yourself and you have this info to help everybody.
The only problem I have found so far is consignees who don't give a crap about how long you sit at their docks before they unload you. Case in point I'm sitting at a famous candy companies dock right now,(14 hours). I won't tell you the name but it starts with N. There were 3 other trucks here with product for them before me. All they said was I'll get to you when I can. Is this Werner's fault. I think not. Is this Werner's fault. I think not!!!! ...........................You Go Bob. I was sent to Florida, Lakeland to be exact. They rented 4 really nice vehicles for us to make the 8 hour trip and then check into a very nice budget hotel in Lakeland........................................................................................... Really nice vehicles. Wow that's great Bob...................................................................................................
This hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. They have breakfast every morning and laundry facilities. The rooms and beds are very nice and clean and they give you three pillows on each bed which is something the higher priced hotels do. I don't know how Werner could take any better care of you but once again I here grumbling and complaints from others............................................................................................................................................. Bob Did you say? Three pillows on each bed. And you don't know how Werner could take any better care of you. Don't you mean take any better care of us?........................................................................................................ Wow If you complain, or gripe about any of this treatment from a business that is offering you a nice livelihood well I think you have a problem and need to rethink your career choice....................................................................... Do you really think so Bob? So I guess what you're saying no slackers at your company........................................ Bob see what iam saying I can see through you. Like so many posts have said recruiter will do and say whatever they have to to recruit you even lie. And you proved their point. Bob you want to be a good recruiter. First thing is to tell the truth, tell them everything you read that was bad about the company is true and it is also true for all the other trucking companies. Let's face it all trucks break down and let's face it if you're not next to the shop you will have to wait a long time, maybe 3 days for a repair and get 20 bucks a day for your trouble, but keep in mind your truck may not break down for another 2 years with our preventive maintenance. When people write bad things about a company it is because you did not inform them of this, they were misinformed had you have pointed that out, they would have said oh yea they said this could and will happen. You might also want to tell them that when they arrive to fix your truck they may have to order the part and could take 3 more days to get the part. You might also want to point out that when you live 1 hour away from where you work and have to be home on time you could end up getting home in 54 min or there could be an accident and could arrive 1 hr late so there for you must understand that if you're in California and need to be in new York for a wedding there will be a lot more accidents maybe a flat tire and a dot stop that could cause you to arrive 2 days late for your wedding so what we are telling you is that we will do the best that we can to get you there on time but we can't guarantee it.
Now at least now they won't be to mad as it was explained to them earlier. Or you don't tell them this then say surprise' this is the cause of the bad mouthing of your company.

For you truckers who were fooled by Joe the recruiter don't feel bad everybody was me too until I realized how rosy the picture he was drawing so I went back and researched his words then I realized.
Bottom line go to your nearest truck stop and ask...Have a good day
Bob if you want to fool truck drivers you need to spell a few things wrong use a little bad grammar so what I am saying had you not have given this to your secretary to rewrite and correct your spelling and grammar you would have gotten away with it

OH yeah that's it, I have a secretary that travels with me in my truck. LOL

All I have to say to you sir is get a life. Some of us are smart enough to spell correctly and apply the correct grammar. And as I understand in your last statement, you believe that most truckers are stupid non spelling bad talking idiots. Well if you want to leave yourself in that category be my guest. I sir chose not to join your club. Maybe you should take as much energy that you used to pick apart my posts and put it into your job. You may be happier. But my guess is NOT!!!!!
By the way Mr. Negative, I have been home three weekends in a row with my new dedicated route. Have a nice day.

Oil52 sounds like he had a bad experience with Werner. So i guess in his eyes everyone sould have one too. But as always he will tell you he was a saint, never late, did his job better then everyone, was a perfect little driver. But the company drew names from a hat and picked his out and said, "Let's make this guys life suck here." Same old song and dance.

Some people need to look in the mirror and then they will find the real problem.

Yeah I had my secretary correct my spelling on this.

Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Thees are the facks.

oil52 there is hope for you yet. Just keep studying your a,b,c's and if you do not improve just rest in the fact that people probably can figure out what your trying to say.

Education is a wonderful thing. You should try it.

    Be safe.
