So, I'm done with training and I have my truck, I was wondering where to park on the weekend when I go home, I heard truckstops, especially down South Florida ( I live in Port Saint Lucie ) don't allow trucks to be left there, anything is appreciated, thanks.

    Ask your carrier that question.

It's their truck. They gave you the job, knowing where you live.

They should be able to offer some workable answers.

Do they have a drop yard somewhere near where you live?

I've parked my truck at the truck stop many times and went home. You may have to pay for parking for the duration if your hometime though. Many drivers pay to park at other places that aren't necessarily truck stops for home time.

How far away is your place of work? I would of thought the obvious option would be to park the truck at the depot and drive home? Now if you''ve got to travel a considerable distance to your transport depot than thats not an option. But even if it was 100 miles away I'd still take my car in most depots are going to have a parking area for drivers and other staff, surely they'd allow you to park there for whatever number of days you'll be out on the road? The exception would be if your 100's of miles away from your main depot then yes driving in is probably not an option. If you just had the tractor only can't see why you can't park this near your home. Having the trailer on may be an issue though if there are weight restrictions in your neighborhood. Surely there is some industrial area in your city where you could park then just get someone to pick you up or call a taxi to take you back home. Anyway hope you can work something out all the best mate.

Congrats on getting your own truck, but this is something you should have planned from the beginning LOL.

That said, I used to rent a parking spot at a truck repair shop. They had a big lot and rented spots out as sort of a side hustle. You might be able to find something like that, but they don't necessarily advertise so you may have to stop in to some different places and ask around.

Leaving the truck at a truck stop can be risky. More likely to get broken into, crashed into, vandalized, etc.

Yeah. I used to park mine at a tow truck place. $100 a month whether you used it or not. Always a place to park and no drama. They were a 24/7 operation, so there was always someone there.

RV storage, self-storage, tow truck yards, nearby customers. It would have been good to find an answer before bringing the truck home. Parking off-site means waiting around unpaid while truck maintenance gets done.

Please do not become one of those drivers taking up parking at the truck stop on home time. It sucks to pull in and find a parking lot full due to people using it as a storage lot.

Or find out the truck was exported to central or south America.
