I do miss their company subsidized satellite TV, but I, too will stay where I am at. 60-67cpm sounds good, but the 18-2200 miles/week and Northeast traffic, not so much!
smurf-316 Thanks this. -
The .67 is "All In" / no holidays or weekends home. Otherwise .60 1800-2800 miles. That strict appointments and 78% drop and hook will keep you from that <=$102,912, though... You'll do around 90k running a tight clock and live in a truck....
You can make the same without the cameras and parking restrictions at most megas; if you are willing to live in a truckLast edited: Nov 15, 2023

Since I was tagged and did an extensive thread about CT. I'll state my opinion. I have 7 drivers I talk to on an almost daily basis who all work at CT. I was there for almost 3 years.
Your experience as a driver at CT will very by favoritism and dispatcher. There is a HUGE amount of favoritism!! The drivers that constantly cry to their dispatcher about having to run NE will most likely get their way. Being a whiny lazy bum pays big dividends at CT. Favoritism runs rampant. Defenders and company cheerleaders can post what they want. But I saw it when I worked there and still hear about it on a daily basis. A few examples.....
Driver trainer drove out his clock THEN drove half his trainees clock. The trainee was was NOT in the truck!! Told to not do that. No write up.
Driver locked his keys in the truck in Cincinnati. FIRED!!
Driver took out the entire side of a parked car taking a right turn. Made to take simulator.
Driver dropped off rear trailer tire trying to move for the Ambulance. Had to be pulled out. FIRED!!
Driver runs Texas EVERY WEEK! Refuses to run anywhere else. Yet they have no dedicated. Other drivers take the NE crap loads because the crybabies get the good loads. One driver refused 7 loads in one day! Only works Sunday night through Thursday. You can pretty much take as much time off as you need. The insurance is decent.
If you're one of the chosen few. Then CT can be a great company. If you're one of the few that your dispatcher kisses your ###. You'll love it there!! Cry like a little girl every chance you get! It works at CT!! But please don't come here and expect others to have the same great story you have. Because their experience at Cargo can be vastly different than yours!!Sirscrapntruckalot, 1catfish, Speed_Drums and 1 other person Thank this. -

Also, their day cab division is basically a separate company. If you're not a relative or friend of a relative they put you in trucks with a smaller sleeper if you insist on local.. Older OTR and all the day cab drivers are on undocumented pay scales, cause they are almost entirely nepotism. This is why you see only old rednecks in their daycabs...
I won't say how I know, but some of those old day cab drivers make 170k a year and only work 50 hours a week.. But they are mostly relatives or friends of relatives...
OTR side is driver facing camera, avg. Pay, avg. Home time, typical mega DMs...Last edited: Mar 13, 2024
Speed_Drums Thanks this. -
They did away with training a few years ago. This is where I trained when I finished CDL school.
Speed_Drums, Lonesome and Numb Thank this. -
I think PTL was better, and that's not saying much...
I get the impression most people are there cause the terminal is close to their house -
Just a heads up they are about to layoff half of their OTR drivers, and the CEO is sending out videos before they do it
