Good morning truck driving fam. Anybody have a solid recommendation on truck sales in Houston. I have bad credit and little money, I tried Wholesale truck and finance a few years ago but covid took me out when my clutch went out and I couldn't get it fixed "fast enough". I only had 6 months left on said truck (literally broke my heart to be that close to having my own rig out right) turns out most their trucks a crap. Anywho I've been debating about making this post for at least a year I know most won't read because it's too long. But I'm tired of struggling paycheck to paycheck, feel like I failed myself a couple years ago when I was "caught" on my phone while doing a lease purchase with Heniff Transportation (they've been the carrier who has paid me the most) so they terminated me. Currently I'm debating about going through non carrier purchase (not sure where to start with that though) or going back to Quality Carriers (who I first started tankers with) and doing their lease program. Also looking into Altom (heard positive things???) looking into Legend LLC out of Petal MS ((don't know about them), or staying with my current local company job (Grammer). I can tell my wife expected me to make more money (about $800 take home per week). Hauling these tankers with chemicals has to be a better way. I'm really hopeful to take a chance on myself again and find a good lease purchase program or a finance company that really works with you similar to WTFtrucks obviously with better equipment. Simple google searches make me more confused than ever that's my only reason for coming here. I'm aware I'm either going to get roasted or get suggestions on here but it is what it is. Tired of being too proud to ask. Any advice is appreciated, sorry for the life story....

Don’t do it. You have bad credit, and no money in the bank. Your set up to fail. You can make more than that as a company driver doing ltl. And no drama.

Yeah, Chicago sounds like where you need to go to buy a truck.
Money gonna flow like water, and all your problems solved afterwards.
Actually, to be honest. Someone could give you a truck, trailer, and authority.
You'd still fail.
Good luck figuring out and changing the reasonHaglerFan, WesternPlains, LoneRanger and 7 others Thank this. -

just go company driver, way less headaches and same money.
O/OP's pay themselves a salary out of those "big bucks" and the rest goes for future repairs, operating costs, ect.Wargames, TheLoadOut, Tb0n3 and 6 others Thank this. -
Yeah as others have said and me in a similar position best advice don't do it. But your best option would be a company lease and make sure they offer maintenance program.
Before my health turned to #### I went into business but with this crap economy and the crappy dpf system they failed on me the business failed with in 6 months.
If only I had ever listened to all the harsh advice the Internet had offer and the biggest being to have at least $50000 for maintenance is no joke.
Bring that ya got fired though for cellphone usage it's probably gonna be hard to find someone to hire ya. But as stated there's a few Craigslist Chicago companies that do leases and will hire anyone. Good luck to ya -
