Tobacco is a terrible and wonderful thing. I LOVE tobacco! A good cigar, pipe tobacco, a delicious dip of some good chew. Unfortunately it's SO addictive and unhealthy that I know better. Though I will indulge in a cigar here and there with a beer, its rare for me.
How did you quit Smoking cigarettes?

So, let me ask this. So many companies and businesses are going tobacco free, what if the trucker drug test included tobacco, and as devastating as it is, should be included. Oh, that would ruffle some feathers, huh?
gentleroger, Numb and austinmike Thank this. -
They're not testing anyone and I doubt if they will but if they catch you smoking in one of the mills or in the truck you could be fired. -
I can still gag on one or two for old times sake if I am feeling good after a couple ####tails, but really have no taste for them or care much for the smell. The other side of the coin is I drink only sporadically now and don't hang out at the bar at all, and the smoking mostly went along with that. I got rid of one and the other went with it. Unlike a good cup of coffee in the AM I can truly take or leave tobacco or alcohol.
2Tap Thanks this. -

Cold turkey quit in 2000 after smoking for almost 40 years. Can't stand to be around it or someone who smokes.
Still undecided, austinmike and 201 Thank this. -

You know, the older I get the more people in my life die. It makes me wonder, what the hell is the point to how you live health wise. My father died at 80, was fine one day, then just slipped unconscious and died. Never drank, smoked, or did drugs. To my knowledge he was only with one woman his whole life, he was physically active, ate right, everything. Then he died, just like that. Or how many people do I know with dementia. It just seems that once you hit 70 you are playing with house money, and it doesn't make much of a difference in how you lived to that point. There are exceptions of course, I get that. Maybe I am just being cynical. There are very few 80 year old's walking around with a sharp brain, and no body pain.
Still undecided, austinmike, FloridaRetired and 2 others Thank this. -
I agree. I have also set enough drugs aside to bring my life to a close when I deam it done. I don't want friends and family trying to figure out if it is time to pull the plug. Most of my family are dead before 71 so I have a few years yet. Time to work on that bucket list.
Still undecided, ethos and FloridaRetired Thank this. -
