Nick said there’s a fix for that screen jumping around, a software update I believe.

After listening to The Tim Ridley show this morning on Roaddog on Sirius, all things considered we at FCC are pretty lucky that our Volume is staying pretty consistent. Drivers called and e mailed in this morning of slow freight at there companies, layoffs, companies parking equipment, and roll back of driver pay. I personally know of a couple friends of mine at various carriers are sitting a lot.

So I'm camped out the My Place hotel in La Vista until Friday. Matt's supposed to call later today with an update after he checks in with Interstate.
The room is nice but I miss my truck. It's kind of sad and pathetic but it really is home for me now. It sucks to wake up and be disoriented for a minute or two trying to figure out where everything is.
Spent too much on Ubereats getting some food, but it was my Birthday and I was going to have a Steak dinner darn it and I really wasn't up to getting an Uber to a Steak Place spending an hour there, getting a doggie bag (I eat a lot but not much at any one time), and then Ubering back. Also ordered some stuff for the fridge but would have been smarter to just hike over to the Casey's across the way to stock up.
Hopefully once they are done with this the truck can stay out of the shop for a while and I can get rolling (and earning) again. They haven't said, but I'm assuming I'll get some breakdown pay.
Ex-Wife has a surgery in the beginning of May so I'll have a hard deadline next time I go to the house, so I imagine I'll have to deal with being less productive the last week I'm out to avoid being late. Last time the last week and a half I was out they kept trying to put me onto loads that had a 34 hours + of dead time over the weekends. I pushed to be kept moving or at least get layover pay, they kept me moving but I wound up being several days late getting home.

Booked out until next Tuesday, drop this load in Columbia, SC Saturday, bounce over to Anderson and grab a load going out to Sioux Falls, SD for Tuesday morning.

For the Hee Haw fans in the group, please sing along with me…

“if it weren’t for bad luck,
    I’d have no luck at all… “

so I forgot to submit my RTO in a timely fashion (totally my fault) and the only way to get me where I needed to take a load then added a few extra days onto my request.

    Again, my fault.
    Lesson learned.

Anyway, I had extra time so on Wednesday dropped my last load in Waverly and I opted to run some errands in Omaha that I’ve been putting off and was going to roll out yesterday. Yesterday, wasn’t feeling great so I opted to take half a day off and rest a bit. But that didn’t help so I shut it down and just used a “vaca day” instead.

    (Yes feeling much better…
thank you for asking … LOL)

This morning I start my day and backed up and noticed a little puddle under where my truck once was. I try to make a mental note of where the old puddles are for when I back out, and noticed it and it looked wet as well. I assumed it was just dripping condensation or something but I hadn’t been running the engine too much so I get out just to double check and nope, not water. I pop the top to see what I can see and nothing… absolutely nothing.

So our Fine Folks at the CB Shop pop out to take a look and they too couldn’t see where it was coming from either. So we pull it in over a Pit and they gave it a once over. Yup, found it right where the puddle indicated it should be and it’s either oil or possibly transmission but coming from a place where it’s an obvious dealer issue.

    So off to the Dealership…

Since I’ve already had a couple unproductive days off, I probably should not take the unpaid time off at this point for them to fix it while I wait, so a loaner truck is more than likely in my future.

I hope not and I hope it’s an easy fix but a simple leak in this space of the engine is likely a fairly complicated fix. I assume.

    Oh well, this is trucking.
And it’s my turn in the barrel.

Oh dang, that was longer than it looked. Sorry about that… LOL

(he says while continuing to whine… lol)

From the Iemons to lemonade viewpoint, yes I’m trying to take a more positive mental outlook on life in general… LOL :)

If I hadn’t been down yesterday, the puddle would not have been that big and maybe I would have missed it.

So, I guess I’d rather have an issue closer to the mothership than out OTR somewhere.

Even if it means a Loaner Truck… :-(

Ya, I Know, I Know, I chose a career where we more or less live in an 8x8 box but man do I hate the idea of living out of a suitcase in a loaner for a week or two… :-(

Matt called this morning and told me truck was done and asked when I could be ready to go. I’d packed up already so I told him 15 minutes. (I am familiar with the ways of hurry up and wait so I made sure I was ready to go at 8 this morning).
He said he’d pass it on to Interstate and they should be there shortly. So I hustled downstairs and was on the bench out front 8 minutes later.
After an hour I was starting to get cold soI called back to confirm he’d been able to get in touch with Interstate. Of course about a minute into the call the guy from Interstate rolled up. He was super apologetic. I told him if that was the worst thing that happened to me all day I’d be doing pretty darn good.

Was assigned a load going from Columbus to Mebane, NC. But reading between the lines there was some uncertainty about it (the pickup number was ‘need’ and the BOL # was ‘X’). So I confirmed with my DM that the plan was for me to go to Fremont and grab an empty and then hold tight. It was.
After about an hour the good news was CS finally pinned the customer down on when the trailer would be loaded. The bad news is it was Monday. So I’m chilling some more waiting for the appropriate planner to get back from lunch and come up with a new plan.

The good part about the downtime is I was able to hit Safety and get my tablet swapped out as well as getting a new insurance card. My ELD had a phantom trailer that was showing up on all my duty statuses even though it was not on the asset screen (everything was fine on the server end so the logs looked fine in Fremont). So hey it’s nice to check off a couple of niggles.

I take Saw Palmetto to cut down on the dribbling. Maybe you should give the truck some?

I kid, I kid. That sucks, I hope they can get you fixed up and rolling quick.
