Lost Wallet

Quit carrying a wallet probly 20 years ago.
Money clip with DL. credit card and a few bucks cash. In front pocket.

 

Cool . Lost my clipboard once ( very important thing ) and traced my steps still couldn't find it nor did anybody else . Anyways found it about a month later .... it was on the side of our lot . Guess i had placed it on the deck by the air lines and it fell off and ended up by the fence. Everthing was in it , but it had been run over a few times .

 

That's not germane either.

why are people so dumb to carry their social security card with them?

It needs to be put in a safe deposit box and left there until it is needed. That is a doorway ID, bet it is being used for identity of an 'illegal'.

 

Agreed! My philosophy is simple no matter what you are or where yo come from. “ you are an ####### or your not” absolutely no inbetween in my book!

 

My son, bringing his 2 teenage kids for a visit last Christmas took the train from London to Paris and then from there to Angouleme where he had a hotel and hire car arranged, for the journey to stay with us the next day.

Crossing Paris between stations on the Metro he had his wallet picked from his pocket. He was able to cancel bank cards, and get money using his son's card, but the driving licence was the worst of the affair. No hire car so needed an extra night in the hotel and a bus to our nearest stop, 15 kms away. My car does not have rear seats (taken out years ago to carry dogs, so the kids had to lie on the floor (illegal not to wear seatbelts). Guess where the bus stopped. Right outside the local Gendarmerie. It was a bit of nightmare to get them both in while keeping an eye out on the police station door.

And guess who had to do all the running around for the next 10 days.

 

I learned the hard way .

Now I keep my wallet in my front left pocket , with my super bright Nitecore flashlight .

and when I take the wallet out to use a card or show my DL , I keep my wallet in my hand until the card gets out back in the wallet .

do no , DO NOT lay the wallet down , and do NOT put it back in your pocket .
Just hold it in your hand until you get the card or ID back .

I also have a few hundred bucks in my truck , and a photo of my license on my phone and on my wife’s phone .

as for the SS card ,
There is NO reason to have that in your pocket .
You only need it when you do all the paperwork for a new job


It should be at home in your safe with your birth certificate and passport .


your son needs to freeze his credit at all three agencies ,

losing your wallet with the DL and SS card , in a factory full of illegals is a blessing for whichever one found it .
