Hey guys ive had my CDL for 2 years now but have zero experience driving a truck. applied with swift and they asked me to go do their 3 day orientation. I found out that during this time I would be taking a road test the first day?! What happens if I fail the road test? Can I still get a job with swift or do I have to wait and re apply later? I'll be doing the orientation in oklahoma city. Thanks for the help guys.

It seems rather odd that they are not requiring you to go through a refresher course first.
If you have zero experience driving a truck it is very unlikely that you would pass the road test.

Thanks. I'll call the terminal leader tomorrow and ask them to put me in a refresh course I don't want them to waste time and money on me plus I want to be known as a good worker not a dummy hahah!

If Swift doesn't work out, try Knight Transportation. One driver I know was in the same situation as you except he hadn't driven since cdl school 10 years ago.

Yup, I took their week long refresher course for free. It was a really good experience. I think they have changed the process however.

1-2 weeks isn’t enough if you have zero experience
