I want to buy a Cascadia DD13 2020 460k miles on it + APU
in the ddec idling percentage report is 22% Is this good or not and what is the percentage that should be for a truck of approximately 500k miles?
Is 22% idiling in ddec report good or not?

If that engine runs for 8 hours every day, close to 2 hours of it is at idle. Not the greatest.
Alikurdy Thanks this. -
With that kind of mileage you're kind of rolling the dice with the emission system anyways. If no maintenance has been done to it then you're going to start running into issues very soon regardless.

So I inspected the truck carefully before buying itLast edited: May 12, 2024

That is a high idle time percentage for a truck with an APU. Are you sure the APU works?
gentleroger Thanks this. -
You are right it was not working when I checked it
What is a good percentage? -
I asked one of the drivers who works for the company that was using the truck and he said idling 2 hours in the summer due to a delay in loading and unloading
-
My idle time with an apu was under 2%. I'd say anything over 8% is high.

How much mileage/year is your truck?
-
125 a year, 5.5 years when I turned it in.
