Bounced back up to wm after gulfport delivery and stuck on the bethpage bh for Tuesday 0800. Haven’t been up NYC/Long Island area in 18 years since pulled tanks. What is the best way into there if anyone here been there before?

New Jersey Turnpike to GW Bridge to I-295/Long Island Expressway. If you're using a trucker GPS (and I think you are), it will tell you that I-295 is truck prohibited, but it lies. As long as you're heading east on the LIE (and you will be), you'll be fine. It can be tricky to get a trucker GPS to follow that route, though, so you might want to use Google Maps instead for the freeway bits.

You can spend the night at Bethpage. It's a secured lot and they'll let you in regardless of your appointment time. You can park over near their warehouse.

No love for the BQE I take it?

Why would 295 in NY appear as truck restricted?

    jarhead0311 Thanks this.

NYC reports their overpass clearances incorrectly. So my trucker GPS thinks that my 13'6" truck won't make it underneath their 12'4" overpasses.

Because New York measures their overpasses from the top of the curb. So if sign say 12'7 it's actually 13'7

Thank you for confirming what the gps was saying. It is routing me 95 to 295 to 495. Been 18 yrs since I have been in NYC/Long Island area and didn’t want to run into low bridges.

Hopefully not a total crap show getting to Beth Page tomorrow. Figured Id spend the night there since we are able to so I have a full clock to get back south. Figured be better than parking in Pa and scooting up Tuesday morning. Stopped at Kroger in WM and got a steak for tomorrow, much as I detest the land of low bridges at least I can eat good tomorrow, lol!

Made to Beth Page in one piece. There was a truck parked next to the warehouse so I parked next to it. Wasn’t sure if supposed to park in them spots out front of the warehouse where the yard truck is or not. Guess someone will knock if I need to move.
