I wonder if the insurance on his combine is from the same guy he's getting his crop insurance from? I'd want to have all my ducks in a row on the combine insurance in a situation like that. It sounds like the chances of running over something and cutting a tire, or worse, running something through the machine and doing major damage would be very high. Its bad enough to have to deal with crops still in the field in April, that one would be a nightmare.

The field has been combed over several times dragging the big stuff away. But still much was missed, was working on my trailer across the tracks & you could hear him creep forward a few feet, then back up over 'n over again. He has two guys walking with the combine piling things up as they go.
But yeah, they are going to be pulling things out of that field for years. May be a good time to think about cash renting it to some of those super farmers out there. -
Ya getting used to how she pulls yet? I liked the ride of it better than this 08' trailer I have now. Not that the 08' is bad, I just liked the Wilson pull better.HwyPilot Thanks this. -
I know my boss sucked a chunk of tire tread from the irrigator into the combine one night and almost set the field on fire. It locked one set of teeth, shredded the gearbox for that section, and was throwing sparks out the back. Didn't really hurt it much though. We replaced the damaged gearbox in less than an hour the next day and it was all good again. Somebody really put some thought into the design of those john deers. Real easy to take apart and work on. -

,wind was blowing like a freight-train though,i think it was just blowing too hard for it to rain much.
I did see about 350 acres of corn planted on the west side of the Natcher Parkway just south of Owensboro tuesday morning, that was an encouraging site,at least. -
Bosses itching to plant rice. Rained pretty good weds. afternoon. West of town got just a trace. They've got mostly heavy ground also. Frustrating to watch the sandier ground guys working. La corn well on its way.
