Hey guys, I'm trying to do better in life and go for my cdl, I currently have a cdp in Indiana. My question is can I get hire if my license was suspended 7 times for repeated insurance violations and not attending driver program? My mvr includes 1 accident and 3 moving violations from August 2021? I've done research and seems like 3 years is my waiting mark for most trucking inssurance to forgive but convictions remain on record for 10 years. Should I just give up? wait a bit longer? And what about moving to a new state and try again? Note: my license is currently valid with 0 points and no restrictions. And this August will mark that 3 year mark.

Note: My license has been valid for some time now, with no criminal history. I tried with pam transport but I just received an action Adverse letter 2 days ago...

They probably won't talk to you until August....if then. There are a lot of drivers with good records and experience to choose from in this economy.

    Keep trying and maybe
    #Chinatown has some ideas.

Thank you! Anything is really helpful! I’ll just wait till august and try again. I have no idea who or what Chinatown is or how to get in contact for more info.

Yeah 3 years and you’re good. Yes everything will be on your record but all that was non CDL stuff. I had a lot of traffic misdemeanors and stuff before I got a CDL. I timed it out I guess when it was after 3 years. This was along time ago so things might have changed. Now you won’t go to an excellent company off the bat you’ll have to do your time. But I think 3 years you should be safe. But in this economy it’s not guaranteed. Read the application only give what they ask for. Don’t give information if you don't have too. You’ll probably have to start at a mega.

Most insurance allows one at fault accident +/or a minimum number of moving violations within the past 3 years so in 'normal trucking times' [an oximoron?] you are OK but won't be one of the top choices in today's market.

You are good in 3 months but would do better after the election when things start to improve.

You being a new driver, with a spotty record, will make it difficult but not impossible. The job market is truly looking for the best of candidates. They want good driving records coupled with experience. The market is slim for newer drivers so it will behoove you to drive like a grannny in your personal vehicle. Carriers don't leave much wiggle room for hiccups like they used to so make sure you're more careful going forward.

3 moving violations and 1 accident. I agree with the others, that 3 years you'll be good. Were all of those moving violations speeding?
