Dave is correct, a mill cash should be good as long as you stay out of the expensive cities.

In the late '70s, while still in High School, my dad and uncle sat down with me and helped me set a goal for retirement of:

My house paid for. With no mortgages.
Half a mill in the bank. -- Needs to be cash or precious minerals, Not Stocks that stuff aint worth the paper it's printed on.
All debt Eliminated. Annual and Monthly bills along with food bill needs to be low enough so Social Security can pay them.


So to go backward with a mill in a duffel.....

Half to a bank/secure storage
$100k to payoff/acquire/upgrade pickup and car.
Up to $400k for a place to live. Try to moderate to keep property taxes in check.

Yep, it’s dirty. Farms and ranches are dusty and dirty. It’s a happy truck, cause it’s a working truck and ain’t no highway queen.
