Don't apply with any companies yet; wait until you have a cdl, then start applying.

No excuses man my friend. Just do better. When you get your license and go to your first company, trucks are going to be governed. Many companies, you won't even be able to drive 70 mph. Time management is going to be paramount in this industry. These companies aren't going to care why you're running late if it's for something other than a break down, blown tire, etc. These loads gotta be on time. I knew a guy who got fired from K&B Transportation and J.S. Helwig because he couldn't deliver meat loads on time. He told me that it was because he couldn't slide his axles. They didn't care. Those meat accounts are their bread and butter. That's just an idea of how cutthroat this industry can be if those loads don't get there.

Companies can, and do set their standards higher than the insurance minimums and look at the severity of the infractions.

I've even encountered one insurance company that divided 'infractions' into Major and Minor classes in their guidelines and any of the FCMSA's potential CDL suspending violations [Speeding more than 15 over, leaving the scene, reckless, etc.] were included in the 'Major' class.

The same company held DUI/DWI as a prohibitive for ten years ! ! !

I wondered if their rates were lower because they tried to restrict their losses by having higher standards.

Any motor carrier is able to hold standards higher than the FCMSA/insurance carrier minimum, especially when they have an abundance of incoming applications such as now and realize that anyone directly involved in hiring drivers, after a few thousand applications, quickly decides who is advanced based on their standards.

Because you are very high risk and insurance companies have determined that people don't change their behaviors, but 5 years gives some indication they learned how to control themselves.

As mentioned, experienced drivers with 10 years are having problems finding work, we have too many drivers in the industry.

Understood, lol at this point my hopes keeps going up and down! Truckers I meet on the streets tell me there's a shortage of truck drivers and some companies will hire me right now. But trucker forums telling me there are too many drivers. My brain hurts from thinking and researching so much.

Plenty of trucking jobs available as long as drivers don't put themselves on a pedestal and don't face the facts that the driver is the employee and the employer pays the bills.

Roehl keeps calling me to finish my app. But I know soon as they discovered my mvr they won't bother with me anymore. So I'll keep ignoring them for now. A trucker at my job told me Werner hires anybody lol even felons (which I'm not) but I'm not too sure about them yet.

Hand, I am all for a person bettering themselves. Honest talk, tho: The more you talk, the worse you look. For example, your excuse about your major league speeding ticket. HUUUUUURRRRRRRRRTTTT! Don’t do that! If I am listening to you in an interview, I would end the interview. And then, in this post, you claim humility and patience, both good qualities. Don’t tell people about your supposed good qualities when you got a ticket doing 30 over, and LATE for something that was to you very important. Your words are not congruent with your actions.

Less is more. Don’t talk potential employers out of liking and hiring you.
